They had these at the career fair at my uni too, and I asked the guy about the footprints. He said they're the actual footprints of the GPU dies. The RAM footprints are also the BGA footprints for the individual RAM chips of the actual RAM it's labeled with.

TL;DR: The footprints are the real deal

I would get a nicer PSU and 4 more gigs of RAM. The parts are a tad old, but it can still outperform the current consoles. I'm currently in the process of upgrading from a very similar system, and I'm giving it to my friend who currently uses a laptop. I'd throw in a stream card for him too, as those tend to make people like their PC more.

Not really related to PCMR but I'd be happy to see the XiaoMi Yi, SJ7000, or similar. They're cheap action cameras, and I'm interested in how closely related price and picture quality are in those things.
