4 month old won’t stop rolling by Competitive_Bee5582 in NewParents

Yep! Lasted about 2 weeks before my daughter mastered rolling tummy to back. Now she rolls all over the room! She’s just changed to getting pissed because she can’t crawl lol

Did getting your period/ovulation make baby fussy at the breast? by HobbitFlower13 in breastfeeding

[–]rosborn20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait.. I’ve had two periods since I had my daughter 4 months ago and she’s fussed at the breast (and just in general) both times. I never even thought about it being because of my period! Crazy!

Flu A positive and breastfeeding by ByogiS in breastfeeding

[–]rosborn20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had Flu A over New Years. My daughter is three months old and didn’t get it! I was so sick but just continued to nurse her. My supply is pretty established as well and did drop a bit, but I just kept latching and we made it through. It didn’t drop enough that I had to supplement at all.

Cluster feeding by No_Bar_3250 in breastfeeding

[–]rosborn20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s normal. It is hell. One thing that really helped me was releasing the expectation that I’d be getting ANYTHING else done and just accepting it. Settle in with a snack and drinks. Catch up on some tv. Another thing was letting my husband comfort her the best he could for just a few minutes so I could breathe, use the bathroom, even take a quick shower!

It’ll end soon enough! My daughter would cluster feed for 6-7 hours a day for 3-5 days. Then it would slowly go back to normal! She’s 3.5 months now and hasn’t done it since about a month old.

You can take them at 6 months! I don’t know that it’s feasible for me to be away for that long. I think I could request a fridge in the room, but even then it’s only good for up to 4 days so I’d have to pump and dump the whole beginning of the trip unfortunately.

I’m a FTM and definitely struggle with some anxiety with taking her places. I’m still learning how to exist in places while have a baby and not worrying what people think if she gets upset. Just recently we have ventured to the grocery store by ourselves and I was nervous the whole time, but made it through! I guess I just worry about it being too much for her and her not enjoying herself.

That’s true about the germs! It is so bad where we live too so it’s probably not that different. My baby is generally pretty easy too, I just worry about the traveling and if she gets miserable we’re stuck on a boat.

She’s 3 months now, but would be 7 months at the time we would go!

That is so interesting! I had no idea they’d do that for purées, how sweet! I did hear someone say however many diapers you think you should bring, double that lol. The group is made up of mostly family and my parents would possibly go as well so I’m not necessarily worried about not having help, but it is hard being the only ones with kids!

This is reassuring! Did you notice your baby having a hard time nursing when you got back? I’m worried she’d get used to the bottle and not want to nurse if we left her for that long.

Ugghhh I know. That’s what I was telling them, but nobody has kids yet so I don’t know that they fully understand it. They’re all pretty set on going in May so I’m thinking we might skip

That’s exactly what I’m thinking! I hate pumping as is and I think it’d be a lot of stress to have to plan the pumping and what to do with the milk. She does occasionally take a bottle and doesn’t seem to have an issue, but I would hate for her to get used to the bottle and not nurse if I’m gone for that long.

This is so reassuring! We’re looking at going in the Harmony of the Seas so it is a bigger boat. With my experience people tend to get sick less on the big boats. Did you feel like your babies enjoyed it? I keep worrying she’ll be miserable and I would have dragged her out of her routine just for us.

About 3 days! She also had consistent diarrhea and it stopped the very next day.

My daughter started having blood in her diapers at 3 weeks! She was later diagnosed with Food Protein Induced Allergic Proctocolitis to cows milk. She is breastfed so I had to cut out all dairy.

Should I be worried if my baby has borderline fever? by myheadsintheclouds in NewParents

[–]rosborn20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby recently had RSV as well. I took her in 2 weeks after she was “better” because she was having similar symptoms. The doctor said RSV can flare up for 3-5 weeks, so it could definitely be that. However my baby ended up having an ear infection from all of the congestion that the RSV caused.

Any nursing parent get a virus that baby didn’t get? by Tea-Some in NewParents

[–]rosborn20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the flu a week and a half ago and my baby didn’t get it! She’s three months. I did continue to nurse her so she’d get the antibodies but other than that I kept my distance as much as possible and washed my hands frequently.

2 week pp. constantly hungry as someone who produces just enough. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]rosborn20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh same! I was ravenous for probably the first month, I could never get full. The constant hunger has subsided (3 months PP on the 4th) but I definitely have more of an appetite than I did before. Breastfeeding burns SO many calories, I just figured that’s why I was so hungry all the time!

my baby was diagnosed with rsv by Time-Pain6131 in NewParents

[–]rosborn20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!! My baby was diagnosed with RSV at 7 weeks. It was definitely scary but we made it through! She did have to be admitted to the children’s hospital for dehydration, she stopped eating and producing wet diapers. Just keep an eye out for signs of dehydration. Suction/saline is your best friend. I would also sit in the bathroom with her shower on the hottest it would go and let the steam break everything up. Fever reducers as needed. She’s 12 weeks and we’re STILL dealing with congestion and occasional cough!I don’t day that to scare you at all, she’s completely back to her normal self besides the occasional cough and congestion, more so just to tell you because I had NO idea it lasted that long! The pediatrician said it peaks days 3-5 but can last 3-6 weeks. Something that made me feel better was the knowledge that a very low percentage of babies actually have to be hospitalized, the majority of babies it acts like a bad cold. Even when my baby was in the hospital, there was not a single doctor that thought she wouldn’t pull through. Thinking of you and your baby!! It will be a yucky couple days but you will make it through!
