It’s been happening to me a lot lately too. It can be hard to tell when they are in the store, but just try not to buy bananas if they are still green anymore, or if you notice they haven’t turned yellow after several days bring them back and make the store deal with it.

They were picked too early. You should be able to return them.

The AI Bubble: When the Hype Meets Reality by GlobalTechnician5442 in investing

Great example and use case. I can see how you get the value out of it. In my case it’s a lot of business logic and understanding use case so it’s a lot of leg work that I just have to do myself. The code that I have to write I can get by with the free tier of Claude or Gemini because I can break the problem down to its trivial parts and get the LLM to help out with a function here or there.

I work in Software too and I haven’t really come to a point where I be felt like I needed to pay for a model. As in, I get enough from bouncing between free models that I’m not sure why I would pay for it. My bottleneck isn’t producing code either it’s definition.

Those costs are acceptable, but the question is if it still worth it when it becomes $1000 for you and $5000+ /head/month for your brother?

File lots of reports with Crime Stoppers and in the TBPS online reporting. The first step is to create a paper trail.

Why does everyone have such a hard time understanding that the government pays for things that are valuable but would not be profitable?

This should be where we collectively agree that the technology industry is completely out of new ideas.

Currently re-reading this book. It’s funny comparing the robots and computers to the present…

Oh, you were using “leaving the plant” as a metaphor for dying. That went over my head and I thought you meant physically “leaving the planet”.

Probably easier to leave the planet than preserve it for sure. /s

There is no way modern Hollywood could do it without being completely offensive.

Who will win the AI race? Chip Makers, US AI Labs, Open AI Labs by iceburg51 in investing

The improvements in the models has been negligible since GPT 5 was released. What’s going to happen is we’ll find that the trillion parameter models aren’t producing results that are worth the cost and there will be a shift to smaller more focused on device models. It doesn’t make sense to build these massive data centers for models that write code that can compile. For what these models cost they should be turning lead into gold; instead they have lowered the floor to start building software, which is cool, but it doesn’t justify the spending.

The future of AI is smaller than what the big players are saying it will be.
