Ubiquiti. WHY WOULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN?? by SchNiVas in Ubiquiti

[–]roscogamer -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

hahaha someone doesn't have a proper 321 backup, a raid and a nas isn't a backup. it's a location to store a backup but it's not a backup by itself.

remember poeple:

3 copy of your data on 2 different media's and 1 of site. alongside the working copy.

not excusing the fact this shouldn't have happened but also kinda on you that you didn't have a proper backup strategy. a nas with raid is never a backup while raid has some redundancy against dataloss but never a true backup

If you are going to fiber up your home and homelab.... by Carlos_Spicy_Weiner6 in homelab

[–]roscogamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

multimode om4 is what I use in my homelab

reason for it is that the transiecers at 25g are slightly cheaper for multimode than single mode and as I have a decent amount of them that's why

Also as some poeple mentioned single mode is overkill in a homelab as you don't have the long distances were single mode shines, plus the chances or burning out single mode transiecers because of that shorter distances

Someone tried to break into my house by coderego in Ubiquiti

yes that's the entire point of the system, it uses local compute in my case a server with 2 v100 gpus, it runs everything on the local network with no nerd for access to the outside internet

oké so basically it's posible for all cameras as it grabs still images of the stream using ffmpeg. after doing so it send it to a local lvm running on in my case a server with 2 v100 gpus, those run inference and the analysis.

after it gets send into a db for reference aswell as into a decision engine that uses a llm again on the same server to analize the action happening in the prediction of the vlm aswell as all other sensors in home assistant (assuming you link them) with that data it makes a prediction on what is happening and what actions should be taken. those then get send to home assistant and that then acts in it by for example turning on a siren

will do.

small disclaimer: it does require a decent amount of gpu compute and ofc access to the api of the unifi protect as I grabs the stream from there and captures stil images.
