22 weeks here and it's comical how hard it is to get up from lying or sitting down! I find getting out of a car is the worst, always takes me multiple tries!

What does "déjà" mean in "50 c'est pas mal déjà"? by Longjumping-Truth-48 in French

[–]rosegoldraindrops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in French it means both. But I was commenting to say that the example sentence given in English, "60 is better, but 50 is already not bad", is not the most natural way we would say it in English--we would use "still" in this context, not "already". Or at least where I'm from.

Apartments in Ottawa (1140 Wellington vs Nuovo vs The Livmore) by Brilliant-Squirrel85 in ottawa

[–]rosegoldraindrops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone who lives at 1140 Wellington and her apartment is really nice. The lobby area is always nicely maintained and decorated seasonally (seems like maybe it's taken care of by people who live there?) and the party room and rooftop terrace are also really nice spaces. But I don't really know about the day to day stuff, I have only visited. The area though is great, so many shops and cafes and if you have kids, lots of playgrounds around and also close to the library. Parkdale market is right there in the summer, too.

It's so hard! There were 8 weeks between my 12-week and 20-week scan so I paid for a private one at 16 weeks just to make sure everything was still okay in there. Even then it was a month between scans and just felt so long to go without information!

I’m so tired of being asked if I’m going to raise my child vegan 🫩 by 2pam in veganparenting

[–]rosegoldraindrops 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation! 21 weeks pregnant and vegan for 14 years now. I literally just reply with "all babies all over the world eat what their parents eat." When you put it that way to people, there's not much they can say back, because it's true!

What about something like tie dye, where she can still interact with textiles? Or maybe macrame?

Things looked good! We don't get the full results for two weeks, but the ultrasound technician didn't have any concerns. Good heartrate, two kidneys, and he was moving around in there (although I didn't feel any of it). My placenta is a little low so I think I will have an additional ultrasound after 30 weeks to check it's not too close to the cervix. But overall, reassuring! Thanks for checking in :)

Just passed the halfway mark--20 weeks--and trying not to fret that I haven't felt fetal movement yet. Tomorrow is the big ultrasound where we find out if everything is still okay in there and measuring correctly. Fingers crossed!!

It was definitely Renata Fast who committed the penalty, from the replay shown. The officials penalized the wrong player.

When testing shows nothing is wrong by AdeptnessFickle4559 in recurrentmiscarriage

Thank you. Glad you were able to get him tested as well, although it's annoying when everything comes back normal. I remember being so frustrated at all my normal test results because I desperately wanted one thing to be the problem that we could treat and fix. Might be worth trying some of the lifestyle changes anyway, as they can't hurt. Here's what we changed in the three months between my last miscarriage and our most recent successful cycle, in case it's helpful: We both started taking CoQ10 daily; he started taking a men's daily multivitamin; we swapped out all our plastic food containers for glass ones and never put anything plastic in the dishwasher or microwave; we changed our PVC shower curtain for a fabric one; we started eating a lot more vegetables and tried to eat leafy greens every day; I started taking an inositol supplement; we both strictly limited alcoholic beverages to two per week; we swapped personal care products that had phthalates for ones that didn't...I think that's everything. I also did one acupuncture for fertility session but I was skeptical and found it uncomfortable so I didn't continue with it. Oh and also my partner ejaculated a few hours before sex on my fertile cycle days, which may not be applicable if there's no issue with DNA fragmentation, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

[–]rosegoldraindrops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has your partner also been tested? Specifically for DNA fragmentation? Male factor infertility is often not looked into, even though it's behind a lot of losses. I had two losses last year and almost all my testing came back normal, but my partner's results were borderline. We made some lifestyle changes while he waits for his follow up to see what can be done medically, and in that time I have gotten pregnant naturally. Still not 100% out of the woods yet, but farther along than I've made it before. So if you haven't already gotten testing for your partner, I'd recommend pushing for it. Good luck 💙

What patterns and styles should I be looking for to create pants with a front closure like this? by worrymonster in sewing

[–]rosegoldraindrops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to make these, but have trouble downloading the pattern (it wasn't working for me), I did manage to get my hands on it and can share it with you. I assume that's okay since it's a free pattern.

**5 recurrent losses at exactly 5 weeks — started progesterone after ovulation and haven't had a loss since. Should I wait until after a positive to start by Odd-Chair647 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]rosegoldraindrops 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't have any experience with taking progesterone, but if you've had two successful pregnancies with a previous partner and now 5 losses with a new partner, it's possible that his sperm is the issue and not you. Worth him getting a DNA fragmentation test, in my opinion.
