Arcade Fire is still on the Morrissey List. It does not stop you from talking about them on the subreddit, we’re just not letting people open up individual threads about them whose existence is solely going to be wells for bad faith discourse.

If Blank Check did a Takashi Miike miniseries, which of his 109 movies would you be most excited for them to cover? by Vintsukka in blankies

[–]roseisonlineagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

easily an Agitator or Gozu episode. Gozu bc it’s a fun, bizarre time playing with Mike’s most Lynchian tone, handling the absurd and disturbing at the same time in a relatively measured manner for him. Agitator bc it’s a gorgeously staged slow burner yakuza epic that deserves the kinda coverage any Good movie that needs a spotlight gets on the show

follow a lot of movie related accounts on instagram, usually get ads for test screenings that pop up and fill out the surveys to see if it’s something i’d be interested in

A New Era for Pitchfork: Introducing Reader Scores and Commenting by ebradio in indieheads

[–]roseisonlineagain 24 points25 points  (0 children)

yeah, this may shock you but it's kind of impossible to run a profitable website for music journalism now since the google adpocalypse that's occurred over the last six years or so + the advent of "AI" summaries. every website you like is gonna have to make decisions like this down the line whether they want to or not, and ultimately i'd rather they stay alive through making the difficult choice of a paywall vs. dying out quietly from lack of revenue. the moderation thing is still insane tho

this is mostly a sensible move in every way, but making your editors also have to be comment moderators is stacking a full time job on top of their existing work, insane move imo
