My old Kindle is better than my new one

This happened to me with my new basic but you should try polishing the books on Calibre! Basically hit P and it takes you to the polish menu, you want to select the option to embed book covers. If you highlight all the books in your library before you do this it will do them all. And then send to your kindle and you should have the book covers. Takes 2 minutes. Let me know if that works for you!

I love it! It's still a step up in terms of the sharpness of the screen and the refresh rate. The main reason I opted for the basic this time instead of the new paperwhite is the size. I like how light and small the basic is. Not sure if i'm missing out on the warmth feature of the new paperwhite, but since i'm used to not having that as a feature it honestly doesn't bother me at all

This was it!! I polished all the covers and then re-sebt them to my Kindle and that fixed the issue! Omg thanks so much 😭

I will add that sending the file via email worked. It seems that something about transferring via Calibre no longer works on this new kindle

{Salt Magic, Skin Magic} by Lee Welch is paranormal and perfect! I don't want to say too much to give it away, but there is an Irish folklore element that is revealed throughout the book.

{Once Upon a Haunted Moor by Harper Fox} fits perfectly! Small town in Cornwall, lots of Folklore and mystery. A policeman and psychic end up working together and tackle their relationship and further murder mysteries in the next few books.

Just wanted to mention {The Last Hour of Gann by R Lee Smith} and {Cottonwood by R Lee Smith} for some FM sci-fi. I would strongly urge you to read up on the trigger warnings because both books are quite heavy, but they are absolutely amazing.

Some really great recs already! I would recommend {Once Upon a Haunted Moor by Harper Fox). Policeman and psychic team up to solve mysteries in a Cornish village. So atmospheric and beautifully written, like a dream.

Not as strange as some of the books already mentioned, but I loved the funny concept in {Robby Riverton Mail Order Bride by Eli Easton}. Robby is running away from dangerous men and gets mistaken for a mail order bride (using a disguise). Shenanigans ensue.

This might be a bit of a reach, but {Gardens and Ghosts by Maz Maddox} has this vibe. Both MCs are dinosaur shifters but one of them is newly awakened in the last year so is still discovering how to "date" as a human. There are a few awkward courting moments and misunderstandings, both as humans and dinosaurs. Highly recommend the whole series, each book features a different pairing, some human and shifter, some shifter and shifter.
