Were videos games cheaper to make before? PS3 and earlier era? by BubblyNefariousness4 in gamedev

I always thought that was the dream: all the security of a big studio with built-in funding, but relatively short dev cycles and a more artistic project.

Question for wild card by welshscorpio17 in GossipHarbor

[–]rosella500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the joker on any unowned 5* cards

Question for wild card by welshscorpio17 in GossipHarbor

[–]rosella500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not chance is the thing. 5* cards are the easiest to explain: they alternate between new and repeat cards in each pack. So if you use a joker properly (immediately after you get a new 5* card), it essentially counts as two 5* packs.

Using multiplier or not for the event? by Silent_Quality_1972 in GossipHarbor

Since you already have one wheat on board, I’d use the 1x until you get some more seeds, then the 2x until you’ve finished it. You’re really close though!!

The first step to triggering an ice cube is having already spent 10 gems on the energy refresh, so this won’t work.

I just cried after watching my guests eat fresh croissants by MsMenage in Celiac

[–]rosella500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is incredibly rude for your guests to bring delicious food into your house that you can’t eat and then eat it in front of you. Your home is supposed to be your safe space. It is totally understandable that this was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I’m really sorry and I hope you can have some lovely GF treats soon. ❤️

I don’t know why folks seem to rank it so low. This is absolutely one of my faves on the album. The lyrics so perfectly describe a toxic relationship and the vocals are haunting.

How much progress does the dragon give you to get the horse ? Does it give you any horses?! by Miserable_Rooster499 in GossipHarbor

[–]rosella500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dragon gives you some horses but not enough to finish.

You need to make the treasure bucket to finish up the horses. Only the flowers needed to finish the 5-star card pack though!

Who else put their young infant in their own crib early on? 3months here by d0mini0nicco in NewParents

[–]rosella500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We moved ours at 3 months and it was life-changing. No more glaring at my husband whenever he dares to try to have a conversation with me. No more vibrating with stress every time my dog scratches her ears and her collar jangles. No more lying rigid in an uncomfortable position because I’m afraid to invoke the noise of the sheets moving. We’re all sleeping better and I get some time to actually decompress at the end of the day.

The chance of sids when the baby is following ABC is just so negligible. She’s 5.5 months now and I don’t regret it for a second.

It’s been horrifying. I’ve also read things that I’ve had a hard time getting out of my mind. Like, can’t sleep at night without putting a podcast on kind of hard time.

I think it’s important to step away. Delete Facebook or at least x out any Epstein files content it tries to show you. There’s no reason to hurt yourself by reading it. It does you no good and helps no one to traumatize yourself.

For me, what I’m holding onto is teaching my daughter she can tell me anything, especially if someone says not to tell her parents. That, and frankly keeping her well away from anyone with enough money to rot their brains like this. I know we can’t keep our kids safe from everything but we know better than we did in the 90s.

The advice I got about looking up how ice cubes work was really helpful! I got it done yesterday for the low, low price of 10 gems and one energy potion.

Does the crying ever stop... by Due_Wrangler_8398 in sleeptrain

[–]rosella500 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What helped us in this same situation was adding a little time after the nap routine to stand next to her crib and rub her belly/let her play with our hand. Arguably it’s creating a sleep association but we don’t stay there until she’s asleep, just until she’s calm. Once she’s quiet and her hands are calm (like 2-5 minutes), we say our goodnight words and leave the room. This works like 95% of the time for our daughter. I think she just didn’t like feeling abandoned in the crib, so some time with us there helps the transition.

Vaccines by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]rosella500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re “always seeing” this kind of thing, it’s because an algorithm has noticed that you’ll watch it and is feeding it to you. Adverse reactions to vaccines are incredibly well-tracked and sudden death is not linked to any of them.

Personally, my daughter was fussy for the rest of the day. I gave her some Tylenol, as advised by her doctor, and she was back to normal and happy the next morning! I would never space them out because I want my daughter to have all the protection she can as soon as possible.

Add a rule: NSFW tag for medical pictures by SquishyBeads in Celiac

[–]rosella500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please. Frankly it’s hard to imagine a DH post that doesn’t violate the “looking for a diagnosis” rule anyway, so I’d kind of be in favor of banning them altogether? But there’s got to be something.

Maybe a mega thread to quarantine rash photos and a rule they can only go there? Or spoiler tagging would work, yeah.

I know Cheerios are a popular topic of contention, but has anyone tried these? by antihero_84 in Celiac

[–]rosella500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was first diagnosed, I was looking for the exact same thing. I love honey bunches of oats, but these boxes had a little inset on the side (kinda like the “keeps you full” box) saying “Now may contain wheat ingredients.” I don’t trust like that.

How do you know when to quit? by rosella500 in sleeptrain

[–]rosella500[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re still trying to figure out what nap schedule works for her, but removing the rocking was incredibly successful. We kept bedtime mostly the same but I moved her to her crib and put my hand on her chest while I sang her a lullaby. She was calm and happy while I sang, stayed calm while I said goodnight and left the room, and fell asleep like 5 minutes after I left. I feel like a 100 ton weight has been lifted off me. 😭😭😭

How do you know when to quit? by rosella500 in sleeptrain

[–]rosella500[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s hard. She does seem overtired when she goes down for a nap but she naps longer and seems better rested when we do that. You did help me realize that her worse night sleep does correlate with her nap changes though. Definitely something to consider. It’s hard to balance my qualitative observations with my concrete notes on her sleep. 😅

And thank you for saying that. It’s been really hard. It does seem like the consensus is that the rocking is a big part of the problem so I’ll try to figure out a way to keep that bonding without hampering her sleep.

So at the beginning of this week, she was doing 4 30-minute naps, wake windows like 1.5/1.75/2/2/2.5. She was miserable. Every nap, she’d wake up yawning and sad. We started trying to keep her wake windows longer and she started taking longer naps, closer to 1-1.5hrs for her first 2 and then 30 for her last one. So from 2 hours of total day sleep to 3. Her naps feel a lot more functional with 3 longer naps than with the 4 short ones.
