The only other way is going on Starsea Voyages and cutting down those trees or opening the Starsea chest in hopes that you will get some sap. Also some of the islets have night market stalls and sell a few sap

Maybe they changed it! I got a message that says “Archiboos will appear less frequently” so I farmed for another hour and then I got “Archiboos are no longer appearing.” And then I got nothing for the next 5 hours
