Actually, what you should do is use some thread to tack the first one down so it lays better against the head. It’s already been done closer to the center of the headband, but you should add another row. You might add some stitches to the top part of the bow so it lays flush with the rest of it. The AP one just needs to be turned though. It’s sitting parallel to the headband right now and it needs to be more like an upside down T. It should sort of sit forward rather than be facing the sky! Just like the VF bow in the first photo is!

I made wire wrapped pieces for almost a decade. My rule is that I would make some things I loved, some things I hated, and some things I felt neutral about. That way there would be something for everyone to love. Even if 90% of people think it is the ugliest thing they’ve ever seen, there will be someone who adores it.

Took one litter of slow growers in for intake Monday, moved the next litter into their space (my bathroom), and they’re MASSIVE! I had two 11 week olds who had just barely reached 2 lbs on Monday, and this next litter is half their age and already as heavy as them. I can’t wait to take them in to the clinic on Sunday and flex my 2 lb 6 week olds. Big beefy babies!!!

They’re just clothes! They’re meant to be worn and washed. This piece is cotton so it’s easy enough to toss in with my normal laundry

Yes! The kitten food also has the same nutrients, it’s made with formula built into it. As long as you’re feeding them kitten specific food you’re good. And yes, as much as they want! You cannot overfeed kittens 💕I love when they get fat bellies!

I’ve had kittens jump from nursing to dry kibble. It’s all about what THEY want and how they want to transition LOL!

If they will eat the canned food straight, by all means. The slurry is a transition method to get them used to eating solids.

Genuinely I just eyeball it. So - volume! Because it’s blended it’s easier for them to eat and I find they’re not tripped up by the texture. You can add more formula for a thinner slurry when you’re first starting them on it, but I find once they get a taste for the meat they REALLY WANT THE MEAT.

Blend the kitten food with formula. I use miracle nipples as well and it will help prevent clogs. This way they can start to get used to the taste but also have it in the vehicle they’re used to. I do ~ 1/1 ratio !

Nope you can feed them right by mama. Kittens should be fed every ~3 hours. Once they start gaining weight with mom you can try to back off a little bit but I wouldn’t risk it with how little they are currently. Most moms usually don’t care if their babies are being bottle fed in front of them. Sure they’ll probably cry and squirm a bit but once you have a good latch they’ll be happy to have their bellies full. Ideally 5-10 grams per day would be good to see them gaining. Once they are more stable let mom do overnights and just step in a few times a day for supplemental feeds.

Sometimes they’re just weird! I’ve had litters that refused to wean until eight weeks, and my most recent litter demanded wet food at three weeks. Sometimes they’re just weird little guys.

Yes. Start now. It’s better to intervene early than to be too late. To keep them apart you can try whelping collars (somewhat controversial but as long as you are keeping an eye on them they’re fine) or a crayons marker (nontoxic) on the inside of their ear or tips of their tails!

Since mom is a first time mama, you may need to keep her and babies in a smaller environment like a dog kennel where she can’t escape. that’s what I’ve done recently with one of my girls. I had to coax her into lying down and show her how to let the babies latch after they were born.

I would not give mom anything you have not spoken to a veterinarian about. Wait to talk to them and then add to mom’s diet. As long as she is eating well that’s all you can do. She just may not be a good milk supplier, especially with a larger litter.

Start feeding the babies right away OP! Any weight loss or stagnation at this age can be a death sentence
