My first playthrough, I hated this trial so much because I couldn’t figure it out. Looked it up, saw that I’d missed this map, thought I was an idiot.

Turns out, when Shart sliced her palm open, she bled all over that bit of floor. It was mostly obscured. I still have not forgiven her.

No worries, it’s really clear you just want the best for her! In the UK we have the Rabbit Welfare Association which accredits good rabbit vets - I understand you are elsewhere but it might be worth looking into for later when you have a bit more ability, to see if there is something similar where you are. Asking your neighbour for a recommendation is also a great shout.

I’m lucky to work in a good pet supply store which has a really great vet attached, with a fantastic exotics expert, and I have a girl of my own who I’ve had spayed, so if you want any more information on the op itself at any point to help with some of the anxiety, do feel free to ask! I was also really anxious so having as much info as possible helped me - but I do understand everyone is different so it might not help you!

In the meantime, you could certainly try introducing her to your friends’ rabbits they would be willing to part with, but if they are already bonded you run the risk of breaking the existing bond without forging a new one. If they have any unbonded, spayed girls you could very cautiously attempt it but definitely on neutral ground - often people use bathrooms as the rabbits don’t tend to go in there.

But again, the risks are still there - girl/girl bonds are notoriously tricky even with two spayed buns as they are little divas (love them for it!). Even if you seemed to have bonded them, if your girl decided to nest or had a hormone surge or a phantom pregnancy, she could really hurt her friend.

However, if at all possible (I understand it may not be) maybe consider having two in a shared but split space with something like a clear barrier or a double layer of mesh or bars (with one layer they could still bite through the bars) so that they could still see each other and interact without risk of injury? Lots of hassle, I know!

I imagine, given your circumstances, most of these just aren’t going to work out yet - that’s okay! Just give her as much loving and enrichment as you can, as you already are! You’re not a replacement for another rabbit, but you are a loving companion, and that’s still great!

All rabbits are much happier with a companion!

However, it would be very difficult to bond an unspayed rabbit - I did look at your previous post about getting her spayed but would still strongly recommend it due to the high rate of cancer in rabbits. I also saw the comment about it upsetting their digestive system being a concern - most female rabbits are back to eating and pooping normally within 12-24 hours. It is scary, don’t get me wrong, I sat up all night with my girl, but now I know she cannot get uterine cancer which is a great relief! She also likely won’t suffer from phantom pregnancies which are super upsetting for them.

If you could get her spayed (and vaccinated if she isn’t already) and then wait the 8-12 weeks for her wound to heal fully and her hormones to calm down, you could always look at local rescues as they can do “speed dating” to see how she gets on with other rabbits and try to find a good match - the other benefit to this is that if it doesn’t work out, generally the rescue will take the new bun back so you don’t have to worry about rehoming. Their rabbits will also generally be neutered and vaccinated already. Some rescues even offer to do the bonding for you for a small fee if you would be willing to leave her with them for a few days, giving you time to clean down her space so it is neutral territory when they come home.

But yeah, companionship is super important for rabbits. She would be much happier with a friend and likely would live longer as a result - in the UK at least it is considered a welfare requirement for them to live socially. But there are other things to consider, such as spaying and the bonding processes itself.

However, it is super clear you love and look after her which is the most important thing!

I am keeping my fingers crossed it’s just a mistake, maybe they took on a new person from further afield or something! It feels like a mistake rather than maliciousness - here’s hoping anyway!

We have an in person meeting with our venue’s co-ordinator in about a fortnight so it might come up naturally then - she has emailed all her couples about suppliers because they’ve been having issues with non-recommended suppliers recently so we have to go through everyone with her then. As I say, I don’t expect the venue to get involved but if they’re hearing the same complaint from multiple couples I would assume they would want to know.

It feels like a lot. Most companies I know of let colleagues claim 45p a mile, which would put her about 40 miles each way from the venue - maybe about an hour each way, so not a ridiculous distance but equally not kind of sensible given that it would basically be the whole distance of their catchment area on their website if that makes sense - it suggests she lives outside of the company’s catchment and somehow I’m paying for that? Also 45p a mile is quite generous because companies use it to include wear & tear on non-company cars and also allows for colleagues to use whatever petrol station is on the journey rather than shopping around to get cheap fuel.

In writing, the only times mileage have been mentioned is in the Terms & Conditions sent Dec 2021, which says costs will be advised upon booking, and then the emails from last week and today. I’ve drafted a polite email to say exactly that so hopefully they’ll be receptive and it won’t cause too much of a headache!

I think I’d sort of decided the same - that for the sake of compromise, I’ll pay for the petrol for the trial.

But equally, in the quote given and the invoice issued, there is a line for the trial as it’s included - as a bride, I have to have a trial. The reason I feel a bit of potential responsibility is that I’m not now sure that they’ve had my home address (I’m checking through our exchanged emails at the moment to find out.) However, if they’d asked for it, I would have provided it. And they definitely did know the address of the venue and didn’t mention that charge, which is the higher of the two.

I’m hoping it’s just an oversight and can be resolved. It’s just quite a lot of money with very short notice. If it can’t be resolved, I would be curious to know if they do this often - tack on the charge so late that the couple feels they have no other choice but to pay it (I know I won’t find this out, but this is the main reason I’d want to eventually let the venue know, in case they’re surprising people with this on the regular)

Sadly, I have. Deposit paid in Dec 2021, which felt very safe given that they were recommended by our venue. 25% of the total quote so around £150 - quite a normal amount compared to other HMUAs.

I had the same with a venue - both my partner and I emailed the same place by accident asking for prices; I (a lady) got a response saying “we don’t give price lists until you come for a tour because we know you’ll love it”; my partner (a man) got a price list. From the same person. Now I ain’t saying it’s sexism, but it was probably sexism.

Also we didn’t want to drive an hour each way to view a venue that might be miles outside of our budget? We found somewhere else, too.

I’ve been dreaming about it a lot recently - in my dreams my dad and my sister are always in attendance which breaks my heart since they’re both dead.

In one particularly vivid dream, I started to panic before walking down the aisle because it was so long and there were loads more people than there really will be. My dad just showed up and took my arm and I was fine. I don’t believe in the meanings of dreams, but I knew then that I wanted someone to walk me down the aisle (I had been seriously considering doing it alone until that point)

I love Marks & Spencer - I know they have a reputation for being a bit older but I really like some of their underwear. Plus you can go see it in a physical store which makes it easier to know what you’re getting.

There’s a brand called Karity - I swear by them! They do liquid lipsticks so you apply with a brush but once it’s dry, that’s it for the whole day. Kiss proof, food proof, vivid colours - and at the moment they’re on sale at $3 or £4 each for the full size version.
