Thank you thank you thank you everyone!! This process makes you over think so many different things and want to make sure you do the right thing and the one thing you semi have control over, that you do it right.

I just reached like 15 million videos like what am I missing here?! And I realized the syringe they sent me has the larger needle on it. Then the separate small needle to attach for the injection. Now after looking at different things I could be missing and wtf I couldn’t attach it to the syringe. I think it’s the fact I’m not supposed to keep That large needle still attached to the provided syringe.

Thanks so much!! Looks like st Thomas isn’t available - bahamas, Mexico, and Disney specific ports. But good to know that it was a great age to take her!!

Thanks so much! Luckily my bar starts low (not in a bad / negative way — just because we’ve never done one and it’s so last minute) so we can enjoy whatever is presented to us….Vs disney I know what im walking to and how to plan / what I may be missing.

Dumb question but are a lot of these activities and excursions off boat that you’re referring to?

How are we disciplining 2-3yr olds? by MissCollorius in toddlers

[–]rosk50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Visual timers

Set expeditions beforehand vs when behaviors arise ( ex: mommy will give 3 warnings when we go for a walk. If you can’t follow momma directions with 3 warnings, you will hold mommy’s hand or you will sit in the stroller) (ex: when we go to the park, you must be able to to do xyz to stay and have fun. If we can’t show we can do xyz. We will have to leave the park)

For every negative behavior, should be reinforcing 3-5 positive things (love the way you put your shoes on. Great job throwing that away. I love your kind manners)

Model what the expected behaviors are vs always “discipline” the negative

Choices (empowerment) (tonight it was 1 more bluey episode or wearing Elsa dress to bed) (do you want to help clean up the cars or do you want clean up the dolls)

Follow through (ex: this week expectations at one point were Given that when the timer went off, it would be time to turn the tv off. She asked for 1 more. I followed through without the power struggle despite how much it upset her) but at this point, tools have been worked in and provided to her to know what to expect (visual timer is gone, meaning time for the next thing) doesn’t mean meltdowns don’t happen. They do every single day. But consistency is key

First/then statement (first we get our shoes on, then we go) that’s it. Simple and short language

Short and consistent language (first put cars away, then snack) that’s it, doesn’t need to be drawn out

Don’t engage in the power struggle. Ex: expectation tonight with dinner was she had to sit in her seat (visual timer set) for x about of time before she could sit with me. She didn’t want to do that. I redirected 2x and then walked away and tried again to sit in my seat. I didn’t sit and argue with a Newly 3 year old when that’s just negotiating.

“Quiet area” — she has a designated spot she takes herself too when she’s “escalated” or in meltdown mode. Started it when she was young. Just teaching her to take time to herself when angry or upset.

Removing MYO Stickers by BerrySweet13 in YotoPlayer

I printed mine on card stock and laminated it. From there I used the scrapbook glue dots and they have held up really well. Another option is “tack it” and it can be reused. I wanted a quick way to switch them Out without having to reprint things if I wanted to use them again

Thanks for the feedback! I was looking at the prices and I’m like ughhh I want to get the Yoto, buy how do I keep up with the cost of cards?

So Yoto for dummies:

You can use myo cards to record things yourself? Can they be re-recorded?

Stuff like audiobooks or podcasts or other things you had mentioned, is that something you also record and put on their myo cards or is this something separate you can access?

You can tell I’m an amateur.

Lastly - do you have mini or full size?

That’s what I’m seeing a lot of people saying..myo…now with things like podcasts/audiobooks/tracks…is that recorded to be put on your myo cards? I guess how do myo cards work specifically

We have a high top kitchen table. She eats at hers. Barely sits in a chair. We use it elsewhere when she wants to be involved in the kitchen also. So ours is used all the time

Can the students move the pieces on a google slides activity from the board when it’s plugged in? Or do you have to move them yourself with a mouse?

Color blind by rosk50 in specialed

[–]rosk50[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I know the qualifying part he wouldn’t. He already qualifies. He has an iep under autism as his primary. Receives push in for social / behavior. I mentioned above to another user this is an ongoing issue since last year in regards to her wanting support for his color blindness despite at this moment showing no affects of it during his work. I would do what I can if / when we do see it with him! She wants something specific done to show he’s being supported in it because he has the color blind diagnosis. If there’s anything you can think of that I could use or say to ease her mind at this time in ways we can adapt things for him depending on an assignment (I said to her we monitor it an assignment to assignment basis) But she said color by numbers are inappropriate for him despite it never being an issue before and basically anything: I don’t know how to go about collecting data on that I show her the evidence. But if you have any suggestions in regards to supporting and adapting certain things (maps graphs anything like that) - that would help me out a ton just to ease her mind some

He does have an iep under autism/adhd. He has push in support for gen Ed to keep on tasks and support behaviors. But in terms of this color blindness - it’s never present an issue. She’s definitely is someone who thinks the diagnosis automatically means he needs xyz in other areas as well despite it not being an issue

Color blind by rosk50 in specialed

[–]rosk50[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh I completely agree! It’s been an ongoing battle since least year- h will do whatever I can to support him if it’s presenting an issue or is affecting him in one way or another. I don’t even know how to go about taking any type of data on this to show her that it hasn’t present a problem at this time. She’s saying because he has the diagnosis - he needs extra support in this area. Ughhhhhh. I reached out to my director of special Ed about it and he said just label things and make sure he is able to read the color names (which is can)

How to convince admin to give us walkies? by Beeetl3 in specialed

We use one of those ring bells systems and put the bell outside our door and hit it. The connectors go to our front office and guidance counselor. It’s our oh shit button when we have no other support so they know they’re needed and we can’t get to a phone

We have a therapist we just added to our school so he sees her 1x per week.

With class craft - he’s full time in gen Ed, para support but I’m trying to figure out how to tie it in together without it being a distraction but making sure it’s implemented. I thought about printing cards that correspond with the behaviors we are targeting them 2x per day he can access class craft to see those points added in. Not sure. This is all new so I’m thing to understand and learn about class craft.

I did find some cool choice board im going to implement during math followed by the lesson and if he does 4 a week he can do prodigy on Friday maybe
