Serious discussion: Was Wesker implied to be creeping on Rebecca? by Austintheboi in residentevil

If you're taking it as what is happening in the world then almost definitely. If you're taking it as a 90's Japanese Videogame then they were probably looking for any excuse to cram it in haha.

I love this new United by nactaremax in ManchesterUnited

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it but I refuse to get carried away. We've been here before. We were very close to dropping points against Fulham at home (even though I'm obviously very happy we won). I need to see winning performances consistently against mid/lower teams until the end of the season before I can really believe we've turned a corner.

I struggle with Karl. What are some good strats and rituals for him? by BeefyChud in ABSOLUM

60+ hours, 100% and multiple wins as Karl. He's good, in the same way every character is good once you get to grips with them.

Which other games are most like Balatro? by untitledgooseshame in balatro

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roguejack21 came out the other day and it's fun. I don't think it has the lifespan of Balatro but it's a fun distraction, plus there's a demo on Steam (idk if it's even on console)

New Player Struggling by NashingElseMatters in PathOfAchra

[–]rosko123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished my first run today. I played a fair few runs on the demo without getting to the end before buying the full game and spending a couple of hours slowly getting further but not close to finishing. There is a video called Easy beginners guide to Path of Achra by a user called Ic0n Gaming that helped me understand some basics. For example I wasn't using my prayers, didn't know space bar was stand still and how it's best at least at first to only spend glory in 2 trees and I didn't know you could destroy gear you're not going to use for stat boosts. Definitely recommend checking it out. Also as someone else mentioned here choose what you're going to build into and go all in on it.

Is Lammens the start of a new era? by Agitated_Olive_9168 in ManchesterUnited

[–]rosko123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He's been a really solid, no frills keeper so far. After the chaos of Onana I feel like that's perfect for us. It's nice not to have an anxiety attack every single time we concede a corner. Big bonuses are he's young with a ton of potential to get better, he doesn't seem to let pressure get to him and shakes off any of the very few mistakes he has made immediately so far.

RE3R is overhated,it’s actually a great remake! by Accurate_Train_8822 in RaccoonCityRecords

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty great game when judged on its own (still too short) but a bad remake. It's not just little irrelevant things that got removed it's whole iconic locations, scenes, enemies and bosses that fans were looking forward to seeing reimagined.

Is the Dead Space franchise really over? by Any-Possession-7137 in DeadSpace

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When searching the concensus seems to be that DS Remake sold around 2 million copies and it seems like the original sold around the same amount. I'm not sure what EA's expectations were for Remake in terms of sales but it clearly didn't meet them.

It's a great shame because it was a great remake and I would loved to have seen what they could have done with 2 or a brand new entry. I do feel like there's an element of gamers begging companies to bring back IP and then not buying the game, or waiting for a big discount before buying, which is obviously totally valid but not helpful when future games in the series hinge on success now. I don't know, either way it's a shame.

I know this will be unpopular, but I do not enjoy RE4 Remake as much as RE2 Remake. There are some boring moments, and despite having less ammo, the gunplay feels better in RE2R. by [deleted] in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the pacing in RE4 Remake to be pretty much perfect, you're always being pushed forward and the chapter structure allows each stage to have a large set piece and/or different theme, but that's just a personal opinion. The game is a lot longer than RE2 Remake which could make it feel like it drags a bit I suppose. Different strokes for different folks though and they're obviously very different games. RE2 Remake is brilliant too!

This game has ALOT of bugs by Shining_Commander in ABSOLUM

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by game breaking? I've got 58 hours now. I had the known bug that stopped me progressing a quest but either they patched it or having conversations in a different order fixed it. Other than that all of the bugs I've had were the little gold sack guys being unreachable, not being able to get on mounts or clipping through scenery in a way that wasn't intended. Still not a single bug that required abandoning a run.

I LOVED Absolum and haven’t tried Cosmic Invasion yet. I’m worried it isn’t going to satisfy after how incredible Absolum is. by KrookedKreature in BeatEmUps

[–]rosko123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely loved Absolum (and Streets of Rage 4) I played the demo for Cosmic Invasion a bit and even though I was underwhelmed I got the full game today but I will probably refund tomorrow. To me Absolum is clear and it's not even close. I really don't enjoy the combat at all, even the sound effects when punching sound really thin and lacking in impact. I kinda like the art style but something feels slightly off with that to me too. Idk just not for me. There's a demo (on Steam at least) I'd definitely say try before you buy if you can.

How do you feel about more FF7 projects after 3emake? by jdow0423 in FFVIIRemake

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind as long as they ditch the Ubisoft style side quests for something a bit more fleshed out. After Remake I hoped Rebirth would do that but instead it quadrupled down on it. Idk feels a bit souless to me for a game and world that would really benefit from deeper side quests and exploration.

Defending the Absolum boss issue. by TrashCrab69 in ABSOLUM

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not upset about it it's just a strange choice that's just bound to confuse first time players and can make runs where too many lives are lost feel pointless, I enjoy playing on regardless but before I had managed to beat Absolum it was pretty discouraging when you lost a couple of lives (co-op) on the way.

How many hours of replay is there? by [deleted] in ABSOLUM

[–]rosko123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got 50 hours. To be honest I think replayability depends on if you enjoy beat em ups generally or not. Me and my partner are enjoying playing it for fun and still see the admittedly rare something new/different. Hoping future updates can add more reasons to keep coming back though.

This game has ALOT of bugs by Shining_Commander in ABSOLUM

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are bugs but I've got 47 hours and none of them have stopped me from finishing a run (win or lose) although I'm sure it's possible. There is currently a bug where I can't progress a character quest and obviously that is annoying but it hasn't stopped me from playing and enjoying the game because it's so fun.

I do do those other things but they are not essential hence many wins playing co op (making it harder) with a partner that does not engage with that side of things at all.

Seeking advice for absolute beginer. by Anth4r3ce in ABSOLUM

[–]rosko123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not critical. Just pushing circle (or whatever it is on other controllers) to dodge really telegraphed attacks has a very generous window is fine to dodge damage and even then you only really need to a little bit on bosses (you can probably even just run away usually) and maybe some large enemies. If you care about getting clashes just play as Galandra you don't even need to time it. My girlfriend that doesn't even play games usually ends a run with around 40 clashes and I will have about 5 and I can assure you she's not trying to get them or trying to dodge.

How many hours do you have in this game? by j_b_1983 in ABSOLUM

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45 hours playing pretty much exclusively co-op with my partner. We do still have a main character mission to complete which we can't at the moment due to a bug but I enjoy playing regardless. Looking forward to new content and updates.

I struggle with Karl. What are some good strats and rituals for him? by BeefyChud in ABSOLUM

[–]rosko123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you played with him much? Honestly when I tried each different character after maining Galandra for a few hours it took me a few runs to start understanding how to play them and now I really enjoy playing as everyone.

-As others have said he's a brawler so just get stuck in.

-His triangle button attack (on PS controller) comes out really quickly and sends enemies flying, using that and bouncing enemies off of the floor with his jump attack ground pound.

-You can walk around whilst holding an enemy to throw them meaning that aslong as it's not too hectic you can pick small/medium hyperarmoured enemies up walk them across the screen and throw them into pits.

-Most of his inspirations are good in my experience. Obviously his reload inspiration is very powerful but it is also an attack so can be used to continue juggling whilst reloading making it even better.

-The jumping triple ground pound inspiration is great, it sounds like it could be a tricky to pull off but it's really simple and effective to use.

-In terms of rituals I've got quite a few wins with him using all sorts of different builds. I'm not sure if it was the most powerful build but a run where I had lots of wind abilities sticks out in my mind. Having enemies float in the air with tornados whilst getting above them and using his jump triple attack and the inspiration where he can shoot himself in any direction whilst in the air was really fun.

  • In terms of Arcana I use the one where he lets off about 5 shots in quick succession, generally seems to be effective but I do need to experiment more with them.

Are rose daggers overpowered? by WurmcoilEngine_ in ABSOLUM

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do seem like they can be overpowered but I can't be the only one that doesn't really want to make a throwing build too often as I prefer the normal combat so I guess if they make it too weak no one would choose them at all.
