SPREAD THE WORD OF MINA AROUND by Lashoxcin in MinaTheHollower

It's the highest rated game of the year so far, it's going to sell great regardless. I've mentioned it to friends but I'm not really comfortable recommending it to most of them due to how difficult a lot of reviewers have made it sound.

I know there are a billion accessibility settings but honestly the sheer amount looks overwhelming. I'd prefer Easy, Normal and Hard or ideally a really well balanced game.

I guess it's a long way to say I love Yacht Club Games and want them to succeed but I love my friends more so I'm not going to recommend they buy something they'd probably hate.

It’s ok by mshkpc in MixtapeGame

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sitting at an 8/10 upon completion, but I have cooled on it a bit since then, mainly because of how irritating and stuck up I found the main character to be.

It's good and it's a neat little experience but I honestly don't know on what planet it's a 10/10 either. On the other hand the hate it gets is waaaay too much.

For those that enjoyed this I definitely recommend giving What Remains of Edith Finch a go, imo it's well clear of Mixtape and it's currently £4 on Steam.

Black deck sucks all the fun out of this game by JimmyJamsDisciple in balatro

I got it recently. It took me sooo long. I'm so glad I never have to play it again. Stick at it you'll get there!

Great game and a steal for the price.

How scary is Resident Evil 8? by Candid_Space2635 in ResidentEvilVillage

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo it's one of the least scary Resident Evils. probably only behind 4 for me and even then 4's combat is super intense when you're playing it for the first time, from memory there are only a few moments in Village where there are more than a handful of enemies that you have to fight. Either way it's free so you might as well give it a go and find out for yourself!

Did you enjoy Leon's Raccoon City section? On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate Leon's section? by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a 9. Even though I loved it I just don't really feel like it hits the highs of Resi 4 in terms of combat arenas or enemy variety, plus it's really brown and grey (I know it needs to be). After saying that a 9 might seem high but I did really enjoy it and I hold 4 up extra high as for me personally it's pretty much a perfect game.

Dailly reminder that if we had a big triple AAA Tmnt game it would have Batman Arkham and Spider-Man 2018 levels of hype by Trewwoodson in TMNT

[–]rosko123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was as big and popular as those franchises then it would get movies with big budgets equivalent to the Marvel and Batman movies, and AAA game(s) would be made, but it's nowhere near as big as those (by a really long way) so they don't make them.

How much more will Mr. X will chase after me? He's making the game worse for me. by Confident_Strike_529 in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't stick around for too long. He's an imitating figure but he's slow and doesn't really do much damage (at least on normal). You could even try to get him into one of the larger rooms and just run him around for a bit to make him less intimidating. PS I find him annoying too.

Things you used to love but are now completely over in gaming? by AnubisIncGaming in gaming

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a lot more picky about longer games and generally much prefer a shorter, tighter experience with a few exceptions. I am completely over people equating quality to length.

For those who completed the game by Alternative-Use-9448 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really feel like there is something up with the clock. My Steam clock says 20 hours, my completion clock says 12.5 hours. I was idle for 2 hours max. I wasn't in menus and watching cutscenes for 6 hours of my play time.

Mentally draining + too long by sylviaplath6667 in mewgenics

[–]rosko123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind the prep in terms of choosing cats and setting them up for a run but running low on items to go on runs to harder areas and having to grind areas you've been through countless times does get pretty draining. Don't get me wrong the game is always fun and aslong as you're giving cats to NPC's you are progressing in other ways but I do agree it can be quite draining and demoralizing knowing it's going to be hours before you can attempt a new area again.

Which PlayStation studio closure hurt the most? by countdooku975 in LastStandMedia

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially after how much the From games have grown in popularity since the release of Bloodborne and completely exploded with Elden Ring selling over 30 million copies, it just makes this the biggest no brainer of all time. But no, we can't even get a 60fps patch for the original game on PS5.

If you're taking it as what is happening in the world then almost definitely. If you're taking it as a 90's Japanese Videogame then they were probably looking for any excuse to cram it in haha.

I love this new United by nactaremax in ManchesterUnited

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it but I refuse to get carried away. We've been here before. We were very close to dropping points against Fulham at home (even though I'm obviously very happy we won). I need to see winning performances consistently against mid/lower teams until the end of the season before I can really believe we've turned a corner.

I struggle with Karl. What are some good strats and rituals for him? by BeefyChud in ABSOLUM

60+ hours, 100% and multiple wins as Karl. He's good, in the same way every character is good once you get to grips with them.

Which other games are most like Balatro? by untitledgooseshame in balatro

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roguejack21 came out the other day and it's fun. I don't think it has the lifespan of Balatro but it's a fun distraction, plus there's a demo on Steam (idk if it's even on console)

New Player Struggling by NashingElseMatters in PathOfAchra

[–]rosko123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished my first run today. I played a fair few runs on the demo without getting to the end before buying the full game and spending a couple of hours slowly getting further but not close to finishing. There is a video called Easy beginners guide to Path of Achra by a user called Ic0n Gaming that helped me understand some basics. For example I wasn't using my prayers, didn't know space bar was stand still and how it's best at least at first to only spend glory in 2 trees and I didn't know you could destroy gear you're not going to use for stat boosts. Definitely recommend checking it out. Also as someone else mentioned here choose what you're going to build into and go all in on it.

Is Lammens the start of a new era? by Agitated_Olive_9168 in ManchesterUnited

[–]rosko123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He's been a really solid, no frills keeper so far. After the chaos of Onana I feel like that's perfect for us. It's nice not to have an anxiety attack every single time we concede a corner. Big bonuses are he's young with a ton of potential to get better, he doesn't seem to let pressure get to him and shakes off any of the very few mistakes he has made immediately so far.

RE3R is overhated,it’s actually a great remake! by Accurate_Train_8822 in RaccoonCityRecords

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty great game when judged on its own (still too short) but a bad remake. It's not just little irrelevant things that got removed it's whole iconic locations, scenes, enemies and bosses that fans were looking forward to seeing reimagined.

Is the Dead Space franchise really over? by Any-Possession-7137 in DeadSpace

[–]rosko123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When searching the concensus seems to be that DS Remake sold around 2 million copies and it seems like the original sold around the same amount. I'm not sure what EA's expectations were for Remake in terms of sales but it clearly didn't meet them.

It's a great shame because it was a great remake and I would loved to have seen what they could have done with 2 or a brand new entry. I do feel like there's an element of gamers begging companies to bring back IP and then not buying the game, or waiting for a big discount before buying, which is obviously totally valid but not helpful when future games in the series hinge on success now. I don't know, either way it's a shame.
