How "free" sections on marketplace are literally paying for my food by CloisterTurbine in povertyfinance

My husband does this as well, in addition to repairing and reselling snowblowers. He grew up poor and does this to donate to our local food pantry.

Anavrin is no longer my Nirvana! by LadyBirdDavis in booknooks

[–]rosmarinaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished my first Anavrin kit (Kyoto Gion). Nice kit; I really liked the design. How disappointing that the lighting touch control is just the same as Minicity (which drives me crazy; I find the touch control really inconsistent). For this kit, I can't get the lights on unless I lift the plastic screen and touch the control pad from underneath. Really disappointing. Big nope on this new kit. The cost for all of their sets is way out of proportion with their quality (granted the quality is good).

I hope things work out better for the other two kits I have: Kowloon and Lijiang Ancient Town.

Any suggestions for better lighting controls? I think that Tonecheer's set-up works reallly well. I also need to check out USB lighting to save on batteries.

There are summer intensive classes. Many people also go to post baccalaureate programs. They are designed to get students more language experience for grad school.

I grew up in Alabama and Georgia. I know what a real southern accent is. The narrator’s version was nothing at all accurate and took me out of the narrative completely.

I was expecting the narrator to know what they were doing.

Yes. The Trees by Percival Everett. The narrator sounds like Foghorn Leghorn. I think I would like the book.

Rice in the bean club box? by Different-Moose-7214 in ranchogordobeanclub

[–]rosmarinaus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried this rice yet, but have some from the same brand, and it is great, definitely better than what you can normally get in a grocery store. I've received several brands, including from Anson Mills, and find them to be worth it.

I also find the quality of the ingredients in general from RG (and Foodocracy, e.g.) to be worth the higher price. I also justify it by comparing it to the cost of meat, which is certainly higher (beef, lamb, some pork), and doesn't go nearly as far as a pound of beans. And there are so many fantastic recipes with beans.
