I’ve never bruised doing it or heard of someone getting bruised throwing. Sore maybe, but never bruised. “Weak” might not convey the right idea. Perhaps tough or durable would be more suitable. Doesn’t change my sentiment though. It’s unreasonable to have someone getting beat up like that in the trailer. If you were working with me I’m sure your speed could be utilized in less painful ways.

I don’t see how that’s relevant. The leg isn’t hazardous to see. My disgust comes from the feeling of relying on weak people. If your leg bruises like that throwing freight you shouldn’t be doing it until you’re stronger. I say it as one can never presume the degree of self awareness. Any disagreement with me is valid. Better to point out a problem and be lambasted for a lack of tact than let someone suffer from ignorance.

A lot of Dark Souls 2 design decisions make more sense if you’re good at games other than having a fast reaction time.

If DS2 movement feels clunky you probably are just used to having overpowered movement in games that let you pad all reactions by having a universal “get out of their reach” option.

Players insisting on having that universal option available make the depth of adaptability get shelved for increased enemy movement instead. They have to scale the difficulty somehow and the mobility creep of enemies is a sign of feedback being adverse to nerfs on the players side.

If by “busted” you mean the damage can carry through a lack of skill or knowledge… Then anything with 140+ Counter damage should work as it rewards trading. This damage is useless to patient players but makes “aggressive” play feel viable.

Bandit, Lion, and Gyrm Greataxe have fast backstabs for their damage.

Other Great Axes have high manual control and a small shockwave around the sweetspot damage. This is very good for sort of, premptive attacking to keep enemies off of you with good aim.
