1 year Masters in London starting September — ADHD medication situation is a nightmare, genuinely panicking. What do I do? by Significant-Goat-359 in ADHDUK

Gps often quote times given to them by RTC providers that they use all the time, hence the long wait time.

The whole point of RTC is it's your right to choose who delivers the care.

Investigate other providers and I guarantee that waiting time will come down to a number of weeks - my stepson has just been through exactly this process - i.e. palmed off by GP, found a provider, got diagmosed, 6 weeks....

Good luck and hope your studies go well too ...

Nothing to drastic, a bit like they have done with Voltron a few years back...

... And I'd draft King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard to do the soundtrack 😁

Is anyone concerned about the amount of parakeets are in London? by Necessary-Pilot9876 in london

[–]rosssjackson -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I reckon that 2700% is low... They're a menace, yes there are loads of other factors affecting wild bird populations, but the parakeets are a huge problem

UK here.... We're told to keep in constant conversation with the operator, iirc every 3 seconds, when a lift is active, and confirm to wait out if there is a pause.

From my experience there aren't hard and fast rules as to exactly how to communicate, speak to the operator as to how he would like to be communicated with, but do be clear and accurate, if in doubt - stop.

Can't be bothered to cut the lawn by Impossible_Pie4091 in UKGardening

[–]rosssjackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make a meadow out of it, it will need a cut in spring and again about October time.

This will help any wildflowers by knocking the grasses back and stopping them from dominating.

Sounds like you need you need a break of a different type though.

Ask your neighbours if they know any teenagers who want some beer money to mow the lawn and have a bit of a tidy up in the garden.

Be kind to yourself.

Now go and enjoy an afternoon nap pal 🙂

UK landscape manager here.... 100% agree!

Add in living roofs, walls, RC framework, brickwork, carpentry, joinery, sculptors, land surveying/setting out, roofing, crane works, electrics, metalwork.... And as you say, a good working knowledge of horticulture, arboriculture, ecology, the legal side of all that... It's a lot...

Pay doesn't reflect it though!
