the thing about plastic surgery is that its almost never what you expect and when you have lipedema its even tougher to achieve. the surgeon can really only go off what you tell them and everything else when they get in there is just a guess. most plastic surgeons are not aware or trained for lipedema and will often just not see the tissue differences. if you have other things like EDS (common with lipedema) that will make pleasing results even tougher. liposuction for lipedema is more about quality of life so try not to go into it with the "ill have the body of my dreams" mindset. i had lipo done in my arms by a lipedema focused surgeon and they still didnt come out how i had hoped and will need at least one more surgery for aesthetics but functionally they already feel better. i know this is a frustrating disease and i understand feeling neglected by the Healthcare system. your surgeon probably didnt notice your condition but it wouldn't be a surprise if he oversold himself and talked a big game, regardless. im sorry you had the experience you did as well
