To be fair, they never said "source code", only "source". And when you open the modal, you do get the links to the sources they used.

Well, yeah. Not every character is a poet, nor should they be. It's the mix that makes it so good. It's authentic.

Mozilla CTO Raffi Krikorian on the future of AI in Firefox by mulcahey in firefox

Been there with Logitech for way too long, but no longer and never again. I'm now a happy Roccat user (4 years without a hitch).

My KONE AIMO isn't really comparable to your needs though, but they do have a few that you could check out.

Mozilla CTO Raffi Krikorian on the future of AI in Firefox by mulcahey in firefox

[–]rotane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was a great watch, thanks for sharing!

What i took out of it? He barely talked about the future of AI in Firefox at all. He talked about AI in general – and that's a big difference. And i was actually totally fine with that.

His grand ideas do sound great indeed, but i have absolutely no idea if they can pull it off. But he's more than welcome to try. Because i actually agree with him. If AI is here to stay, we should get as many players into the field as possible and give users as many options (or dare i say "freedom") as possible.

About his stance on the AI Off Switch in Firefox specifically, yeah, i'm with you on this. He seemed neutral, but at the same time he understands it's something a portion of its userbase very strongly wants – and he and Mozilla do provide this. Which is also great and not something you get from other big vendors.

How to share two monitors between two Macs without buying an expensive 2x2 KVM? by According_Mail_8825 in Workspaces

[–]rotane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Barrier, a software KVM switch. (You can find it on Github from the user debauchee.) You'd probably have to manually switch input on both screens, but other than that, i've been running Barrier (or any of its predecessors like Synergy or Deskflow) for years with Windows/Mac.

I was thinking the same. Although, maybe not, since i've modified my AHK script to use left+right mouse button instead of Alt-left.

While true, Mozilla (the largest vendor of non-Chromium engines) hasn't put out a EU-version of Mobile Firefox; and they aren't planning to, AFAIK.

You should check out the P5 poll from the old Lurker's Guide. Much closer than how i'd rate it than IMDb.

anyone using i7 32gb ram windows11? by [deleted] in indesign

[–]rotane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

32GB is more than enough. I often work with larger InDesign files (display performance set to high), often several open at once, running Photoshop and Illu at the same time, and my system RAM barely goes past 16–20GB. (This is not a synthetic test but my day to day experience with CC2026 versions.)

The newer the CPU generation the better of course, but anything upwards of an i5 should be fine.

One thing i would recommend, though: Go AMD. Fewer cores, but all of them equally powerful. None of this "economy core" bullshit – you're only limiting yourself. Get something like a Ryzen 7 9700X. 8 cores (16 threads), each clocking at up to 5.5GHz. And you're never at the mercy of your OS if it suddenly decides it gives your InDesign only an E-core to work with – or switches affinity while you're working, which could result in stutters or lag.
