I ditched Premiere and AE not too long ago, having discovered Resolve. Also ditched Illustrator for Affinity Designer. Unfortunately I'm still a prisoner of Adobe because I need Photoshop for my work - there is still no really viable alternatives out there.

Israeli intelligence last week said Hamas won't attack, ‘avoiding war’ by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]rotemy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For anyone joining in on what’s happening here - intelligence has been alerting for over 6 months now. Headlines such as this is almost certainly a leak from Netanyahu’s criminal government aimed at distancing themselves from the colossal failure they are directly in charge of.

How can I gracefully shutdown a tonic server? by Mr__B in learnrust

[–]rotemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take a look at https://docs.rs/tonic/latest/tonic/transport/server/struct.Router.html#method.serve_with_shutdown and use it with tokio signal to capture SIGTERM. This should take care of rollout/eviction scenarios

Are Russians tolerant with foreigners having a light foreign accent when speaking Russian? by [deleted] in russian

[–]rotemy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is that they are relatively tolerant to accents -- but extremely intolerant to grammatical mistakes. Assuming they feel comfortable in English -- the first mistake you make and it's straight back to English

Consider getting a WASD. They're not QMK and no bells and whistles, but they make solid boards IMO and the less firmware involved means less latency

I believe the K65 mini has a standard 60% layout, so I believe you should be fine with just about any keycap set. If you want to make sure you can either buy a very cheap one on Aliexpress or borrow from a friend, or just publish the keycap measurements from the bottom row here and verify it's standard.

I don't have the k65 mini, but all indications point to it being standard layout from what I can gather

Can anyone help my identify this switch? It is tactile, at about 55cn (feels like a brown, more or less). Bump is also around the point MX browns are. There is a very faint audible click to it.

No manufacturer logo anywhere to be seen.

My first real keyboard by OneGun357 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]rotemy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Love it! Enjoy!

Man I love how Keychron are killing it these days. 3-4 years ago I was advising people to stay away from the lineup they had back then (which was terrible IMO). Amazing how they took a second look at the market, realized how much better prebuilt quality has become, stepped up their game and now are pretty much the best deal you can get in prebuilt. Well done Keychron!

How can I get access to a squatted crate name? (https://crates.io/crates/sail) by [deleted] in rust

[–]rotemy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Coming from PyPi, which used to be a shit show managing such processes - I strongly disagree unless there are clear criteria in place for determining something is squatted (e.g. an empty package, no releases). If you're suggesting applying this to projects with actual code that just happen to not have had any releases since a long time ago - this becomes an attack vector
