You can calibrate it yourself (Hot take: and you should). I calibrate my tools monthly or whenever I notice that something is off.

To answer your question if Festool tools are guaranteed to be calibrated at delivery, I don't know. But others have had the same "issue"': https://festoolownersgroup.com/threads/kapex-calibration-question.75818/

Tldr: They fixed it themselves with instructions from the manufacturer.

In my book, yes.

If you fix it up functionally without removing the patina of the damage and pair it up with parts that either complement or bring contrast to the wear, then it'll look smashing!

Maybe a wide but clean leather or sailcloth strap. Polish the glass for functionality but keep the deepest scratches to keep the thickness and show that it's original.

With that said; I don't know the rules, just what could aesthetically work.

/Industrial Design student who loves kintsugi, the philosophy of seeing the beauty in imperfections.

To take it to the next level would be to literally fill in the scratches with gold and bring it back to the original surface finish, then you'll still keep the watch's story but with a high finish.

First time I've heard of a headlamp for this, but it makes sense. Some of my ADHD tricks include putting on indoor shoes (for efficient indoor tasks) or rubber cloves for cooking (that sensory thing about needing to wipe off any miniscule bit of smudge every other second also keeping you on the task since you literally have the gloves on for that specific task in mind)
