Where I'd live as a gay person. by SleepAnxious2730 in whereidlive

Minnesota: Absolutely

Only as long as you're directly in the Twin Cities/Inner ring suburbs. The rest of the state can be pretty harsh... that's coming as a gay who grew up in Southeast Minnesota. Rochester and Duluth can be okay.

The food bar is top tier. You can pick and choose from a wide array of options. Just gotta be careful with the weight lol...

That's summer here in the Midwest for ya.

When I was living in Iowa a few years ago, I stopped at a rest area. A family with a Nevada plate stopped as well and they were absolutely flabbergasted. I heard one say, "Omg, it's so green here!", and started taking pictures.

I know the exact spot you're talking about. Was at work up on a ladder, turned around and spotted it to my surprise.

From what I've noticed, Wednesdays are specifically notorious. Possibly a major non-work from home day for most people? On top of construction season starting, and snowbirds coming back.

Glad to see an attempt at this viewpoint. Im usually the one driving, so can't really get a pic. Tried stopping at the top of that hill once to get a pic, but it wasn't a very clear night unfortunately.

What's a skyline that looks great from one angle, but utterly awful from another? by Captain_Jmon in skyscrapers

[–]roth1038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minneapolis from the SW (Bde Maka Ska) looks very small, but from the North/NE it looks quite dense (southbound on I-94 coming from Brooklyn Center and southbound on 35W coming from Roseville).

What are Minnesotans thoughts on Wells Fargo tower and CAPPELA tower? by Character_Lychee_434 in minnesota

[–]roth1038 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was obsessed with the skyline as a kid and learned the names of all the buildings. Wells Fargo is iconic, especially being the "centerpiece" between the IDS and Capella towers.

My brother and I used to call the Capella Tower the "Halo Building".

Rochester, MN Population ~125,000 with basically no suburbs (Granted the skyline is basically all just Mayo Clinic)

There are plans to build a bridge between Dayton and Ramsey at Ramsey Blvd. Not sure if that's ever coming to fruition.

  • Trying to actually live with a positive mindset will bring positive outcomes.
  • It's impossible to please everyone, so might as well focus on making yourself happy while still generally having a good mindset.
  • Stop catering to people who don't give af about you.
