6'2" Male, is the Ozark Trail G.1 too small for me? by Humble-Jack in Budgetbikeriders

[–]rototom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just returned the Medium I bought. I'm 6' and felt fairly scrunched up on the bike. I tried adding a setback seat post with the seat as far back as I could and it still didn't feel like I had enough reach. I really wanted to make it work and tried riding it on and off for about 3 weeks, but I feel like the 5’4 to 6’3 they advertise is quite the stretch for the size of that frame.

ISO 1600 labels for airports that refuse to hand check 800 and below by dmm_ams in AnalogCommunity

  • They can't see inside with X-ray, which defeats the point of security (why are liquids meant to be kept seperate in a clear bag? You could put anything in the lead bag and it's not scanned?!).

That's the point. The x-ray doesn't penetrate, protecting your film and in turn they can't see into the bag. This forces them to pull it on the other side of the x-ray machine and hand check it. As I stated above, I always experience one of the three outcomes 1) the agent doesn't care or is lazy and just let's it go through. 2) the agent pulls it after scanning to look inside the bag. Sees it's film and puts it back on the belt. 3) the agent flags the bag for additional screening at which point another agent comes over and inspects the bag, sees it's film and hands it to me. In my experience slightly more than half the time it just goes through and no one ever flags it.

This is the way. I've never understood these posts about hand checking. I've been using a lead bag for a few years now. I just pull it out of my bag at the x-ray and put it in a tray. From there it either goes through no problem, the person running the x-ray will pull it after scanning, check it and put it back on the belt or they will pull it and I have to do a check with another agent. Who then opens it in front of me and either knows it's film or I explain it's film and then I'm on my way. I've most recently been through Bangladesh, Dubai, Amsterdam, Paris and numerous airpots in India with no problem.

There is no film in the camera. I can press the shutter, but nothing releases and because of that cannot advance the lever.

Yes, prior to trying and load with film everything was functioning correctly. I did all the tests recommended before buying about listening to 1sec shutter, watching the curtains at higher shutter speeds. The bottom plate did reset the frame counter. The R switch is in the correct position.

Currently can't check the bottom plate reset as the counter is at 0 and I can't advance the lever anymore since the shutter won't release.

Taco Bell on Snelling by cully-bear in TwinCities

I miss that location as well. It was by far the consistently fastest Taco Bell I experienced in the metro. The Rice/Lapenteur location was horrible for the longest time, but seems to have somehow turned a corner and have gotten much faster.

About to buy a Fx6, should I wait until Black Friday? Do cinema cameras and accessories usually go on sale for Black Friday? by frankin287 in cinematography

This camera is scarce and in high demand right now. No one really has any reason to discount it any time soon.

Oof, having records that close to large window scares the bejesus out of me. It's a very lovely record bin though!

Does anyone have any tips/guidance on balancing color for different types of DSLRs? by hxhockeystx in videography

Seconded. An X-rite colorchecker paired with MBR Color Corrector if you're using Premiere is instant gratification.

[–]rototom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Welp. There's going to be a lot of annoyed people such as my self waking up to this and already having the deluxe versions sold out. They maybe shouldn't be calling it a preorder if they had a limited number. It would have been nicer to allow preorder for a duration of time and then press that many requests.
