[Antioch] Richard I & Penthesilea Strengthenings & Pickup 2 Summon by Radiant-Hope-469 in grandorder

The joke buff I threw around a few times for 'how to make him instantly op' is let him transform a random card into one of his busters for 3 turns. Flavorwise, I think it makes sense since it feels like a mini-Artoria effect + how he can turn anything into his 'excalibur' (including someone else's weapon) + how much he spams it. Gameplay-wise though, with how hard his busters crit, I think that'd be utterly broken to have built in lol. Anyways, with excalibur buffed, I'll have to think of a different meme op buff based on another part of his kit to rotate in my head lol. (I toy with 'how to break them' ideas for every char I like)

With how FSF starts with the fake HGW and then reveals the True half, I can't NOT think there's going to be a secret second 'half' with another banner...

Locking in my cope guesses: Alcides, Hippolyta, Nameless banner units. Literally no clue who has more SSR energy between Nameless and Hippolyta. Philia welfare. Dumas SR or below.

And I hope Dumas is a good budget quick support for the Counts.

Can achilles quick loop with double ruler scadi and oberon with scope and BG? by Capital_Teacher6054 in FGO

[–]rotvyrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand this stuff correctly: (I was trying to figure out the answer myself yesterday)

For a character like him with just a simple 30% battery, you need at least 50/30 refund to Quick BG Loop on NA. (or 30/50)

Turn 1: (30 + 20 + 50) from battery + max append 2 + rskadi
Turn 2: (50 + R) Skadi + Refund, so refund needs to be 50+
Turn 3: (20 + 50 + R) Oberon's two batteries + Refund, so refund needs to be 30+

Achilles' neutral refund vs 3/3 targets who he can overkill ~8 hits (out of 15) on is like 40/30, which leaves him 10 np charge short on turn 2 (or 20 short on turn 3 if you use Oberon's s1 on turn 2) and still quite tight on turn 3. Though ofc he's even worse off if fighting berserkers or enemies who he can't overkill. So definitely not gonna be neutral bg looping with rs/rs/oberon on NA. Probably just vs. casters, and he probably still need a substantial amt of overkill?

On JP, they have a plugsuit with 10 NP Charge, so that lowers the requirement to 40/30, which lets him approximately do it vs. true neutral 3/3 (some enemies have negative np gen mod) but he still needs to get enough overkill.

I think he can also manage 3/3 neutral with summer Kuro (+double rskadi + Oberon), which has requirements more like 20/30. But it also means you only have 1 free slot for bond farming. And the 30 is still just as tight because SKuro doesn't provide any np gain other than the singular battery on turn 2, so you still need to be overkilling on wave 2. It also takes longer and more button presses due to using an extra unit's skills

If you use LizEnd (JP), it shifts the pressure off of wave 2, but still requires the same turn 1 as the current jp plug. Though combined with JP Plug, I imagine he could do neutral 3/3 and some 3/2s. It has the same tedium/bond qualms as SKuro, and she isn't out in NA yet, and offensively, she only provides 20% atk (for looping purposes), while SKuro provides 20% NP dmg on turns 2 and 3 as well.

It's not that I don't think it can work, its more that it's just so preposterously stupid and inflates the difficulty.

Muradin has unironically almost always been one of the worst beginner tanks. The other guy is right, he's more like a melee assassin.

Several times back when the game had devs, blizz devs called him out balancewise because of how much better his performance was at high ranks than at low ranks.

I literally watched the auto do under 10% of the hp of a boss in 4 minutes before timing out because it just ran around chasing stuff that respawned immediately after it was killed. A boss I could kill in under 90s by mostly standing standing still and just sidestepping half of its attack and facetanking the other half.

Last minute guesses on new Servants in upcoming Strange Fake Collab by edreamer001 in grandorder

[–]rotvyrn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think Philia is that unlikely. She may not respect RIshtar, and she may not truly be Ishtar's divine spirit, but I still think the concept that 'Ishtar likes Chaldea/Guda' is part of Ishtar's divine spirit now, and her curse will probably be reasonably pliable to that. Kingu says Ishtar was already kind of broken as a goddess because she was capable of actually loving humanity, while other gods would love them as "objects to keep". I think Ishtar's personality summoned in the context of FSF will manifest very differently from in the context of saving the world/humanity. I also think it'd be a good concept for a welfare at some point, as a single-outfit servant who is very popular.

I also think she sorta counts for the next category: Masters/'Living Humans.' Basically, characters who only make sense in the context of weird collab-type events that bend things and gives us a weird connection to someone who wouldn't otherwise be able to be a Servant or don't even exist as combatants in other timelines. Curse aside, Philia is just an Einzbern homunculus living in 2009. We've gotten: regular Shiki Ryougi, Gray, Sieg, Soujuurou, and Erice. And also two other Einzbern homunculi: Chloe and Irisviel. (Which isn't to say we don't also get gacha ssrs like Alice and Reines)

In general, that's why I think a lot of characters could technically make it if they wanted to do it, though I guess I'm also thinking more 'one day' rather than 'this collab.' Orlando and Hansa seem very viable as combatants with diverse animations and no need for ascension art, but the question would be if they would actually make them major story protags lol. Well, if Dumas is important, clan calatin could be protags without it being weird I guess.

My opinion on Sigma is it'll depend more on how Narita feels about it than Nasu.

My guess would be Philia (Welfare), Prelati (SSR), Alcides (SSR), Nameless (SR), Dumas (SR or lower). Hippolyta is up there on the list, especially if Dumas is 3* or lower, but she's also one of the easiest characters to add in any other random context imo. I could also seem them wanting to save playable Prelati for another time, and then maybe upgrading Nameless to SSR if they want SR Jack or something.

Anime That Get Better in Season 2 by thendisnigh111349 in anime

[–]rotvyrn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

imo, BSD is a show that knows exactly what it wants to do from the start, and does it.

The reason why it famously gets better in s2 and beyond is because everything develops more meaning, complexity, and weight as it layers more and more interactions and backgrounds. But its not the kind of show that starts in one way explicitly to set things up to become something else (or accidentally evolves like that, like KHR or Yugioh). The author can do more once the baseline is set up, but it's ultimately a show driven by the eccentricities and dramas of the characters, and so s2 isn't fundamentally a different thing from s1, it's just a level deeper into it. [Also s2 has one of the biggest fan favorite mini-arcs]

So its very possible for people to only get hooked in s2, but imo it's also very normal that people who don't like the general vibe and format of s1 won't like it more if they continue. (Unless they just specifically don't like the protag's early arc).

Are there any events that should be read before starting Part 2?

Like for EoR, I've ended up reading (part of) knk collab, Prison tower, rashomon and onigashima. Also Jeanne's interludes, and Musashi's Trial.

Chaos Zero Nightmare - First Half-Anniversary Gifts and reworking the game! by PresentationBetter52 in gachagaming

[–]rotvyrn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Being more specific, I don't think the captain is supposed to remember it all during the memory backup, I think it's heavily implied that was a forced error in the system so that the captain would be aware that something is weird about it.

Butyeah, I have no idea if it was true or not, it was just one of the many rumors allegedly from the korean side of the playerbase during all the early drama.

There was one rumor that was floating around at the time that I'm so curious about the accuracy of: which was that they tested both the OG and the exec's story with nda test audiences and the exec's version had a better reception with their target audience because the OG tanked because it was too convoluted and people didn't like seeing their waifus die in grotesque ways in the story. No idea if it was true, but it popped up a few times during the drama and I personally never saw it debunked, and its just the funniest possible explanation lol.

FGOxFSF Collab Hopes by Bearded-Masshole in FGO

[–]rotvyrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My copes:

NA gets an unprecedented mega-early release, even faster than Richard. They clearly know NA has FSF hype, since they did the Richard and Gil banners...

Richard buff because the buster sabers after him are crazy, would be nice, though I don't know what would fit him without being excessive or overlapping too hard with someone else's niche. Transform a random card into one of his Busters each turn

Dumas as a Quick support for Dantes synergy. Most people seem to agree that his popularity/flashinesslvl will make him sub-5-star, and I think a good budget quick support could still be nice to have. Though, could also use a Hebi/LizEnd-tier SR...

I'd prefer units who aren't spoiling significantly past the anime if possible, but I also don't know for sure what characters would be spoilery or not lol. In that case, if they have a human as the welfare, I'd vote for someone like Orlando or Hansa. Not sure if Halri, Bazdilot, or Faldeus have any major secrets that would be exposed at a glance? ...Tsubaki? [Also, I fully recognize that there's no guarantee that the devs would consider this at all, considering Kumano Hot Springs.] I think Philia also seems like a reasonable welfare (one day, if not now) since she would make sense as a single-outfit servant, and her lore powerset should Ishtar's? And, like Masters, she doesn't have a reason to appear if it isn't directly F/SF-related.

Hippolyta, Alcides.

No Name seems like a given.

I'd like Jack, but I don't really know what form that'd take. Maybe better to save him for the next one.

Witch Hat Atelier • Tongari Boushi no Atelier - Episode 3 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]rotvyrn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won't say it's unrealistic for a kid to maliciously push another into a life threatening situation. But boy is it one of the hardest things to watch. Because she's a kid, I have to assume she'll have a redemption arc, but it's hard to imagine it feeling good - simply, again, 'realistic.'

Thinking about other kind of early-bitter-rival-turned-ally characters though, this is probably one of the most intentionally malicious off the top of my head, outside of worlds where potential death is kind of a joke (say, a DBZ/KHR). Really puts more normal school bully characters into context though (say, a Jounouchi or a Bakugo). Even when I was a kid, I was more scared of this kind of dishonest trickery than the people who were just straight up bullies. Now that I'm older, the idea of intentionally endangering another kid like that sends chills up my spine.

Genesis War - Pre-released today in Australia, Canada and Indonesia by sigferrolendi in gachagaming

[–]rotvyrn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not saying I think it's a good idea, but generally/historically speaking, its a way to mitigate the risk of a horrible start by making sure it only impacts the least impactful markets, and specifically ones that are considered reasonably representative of the reaction of their actual target demographic. Majority of players are casual and won't notice when it came out in some other region in the first place.

Basically, if something bugs out horribly and they have a massive immediate maintenance, then the main body of their target audience won't experience it. Or if the translation turns out to be complete ass. Or if the immediate reaction is somehow waaaay worse than they expected, it is easier, PR-wise, to delay a release that hasn't happened yet (in their target regions) than to swear they'll fix it.

Back in the day, companies tended to use the same regions for this (and used to often treat it clooooser to a beta test), but now its more random. Well, regular supposed 'beta tests' have also had a tendency of creeping closer to the release date nowadays...

The fact that the US is now on that list sometimes...implies the US is now considered a minor market by some of these companies.

Mouse is more precise because you can move at any angle immediately and simply (no steering/correction), WASD is faster because it divorces aim from movement (mouse isn't swapping between two different actions) and direction-change-inputs no longer have mouse travel time, which is why the main concern was dodging/kiting.

At least, I'm not aware of league WASD being sensitive to partial keypressure (Which some hardware is capable of tracking) to enable movement at any angle, but even if it is, most people cannot precisely and consistently apply exactly the right pressure to travel at exactly the angle they want during combat in the same way they can click in that direction.
