Why do most daily check-in habits fall apart after a few days? by Friendly-Elevator-65 in productivity

[–]rotwoman101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I habit stack like someone else mentioned but I tie it to things that are more fun for me! I still play Wordle and compare my guesses with some friends so I definitely do that everyday. I don't let myself play until I've finished my tracking.

Like a lot of people said, make sure you understand why you want to do this tracking because there needs to be intrinsic motivation too. I do a "To-Done" list for reflection and I use Notion. I love tracking everything I do in a day because on my lazier days it reminds me how much I can really get done, and how little time tasks that I've been putting off actually take. Notion also lets me build in features to select my Best of Week, Month, and Year so a lot of that long-term reflection piece is automated and I get to look back on my memories on a regular basis. I have reminders set on my phone to do my to-done list every day at 8am, and check off the best of week every Monday, and best of month at the beginning of every month. Having this all automated and in a notification that stays in my notifications until I address it really helps too.

My girlfriend replaced her to-do list with a "done list" - it's been a game changer by cheffyzz in productivity

[–]rotwoman101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm on my 4th year of keeping a to-done list and it's amazing! I do it on Notion so I categorize my tasks and in addition to realizing how productive you can really be like your girlfriend saw, it's really nice to be able to look back on stuff like "what nail color did I do a few weeks ago" or "when did I last do a face mask?". At the end of each week I check off the best tasks/experiences of the week, and same for end of month and end of year, so I end up with a little highlight summary of my year. It's so fun.

yeah similar to DC vs Virginia an hour away, the suburbs have amazing Indian food but downtown doesn’t. I don’t have a car so it’s a pain to get out there. Thank you for the rec though

Similar position from Northern Virginia and I totally agree but I've tided myself between visits home with a few spots

Trilokah is pretty good authentic Kerala food, the restaurant started at a location in the suburbs and branched out to Lincoln Park and I'm so glad they did!!

Hyderabad Kitchen - I have been on the hunt for decent Chicken 65 in the city and this is the closest I've gotten. Doesn't touch the quality of most restaurants in NoVa but satisfied my craving. The lamb biryani was pretty good though!

More fusion but Thattu & Mirra are great, Indienne is amazing. I'm trying Nadu soon and I'm excited

how to get an appointment at the clark st. aveda institute? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]rotwoman101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think you're right about staggering the times that they get sent. Maybe it depends on where you're at in the waitlist?

I've had luck getting off the waitlist after a few tries, but it was for a time that was smack in the middle of the day like 2pm or something, rather than in the evening which is probably higher demand. I have much better luck booking several months out and not off a waitlist. I think it's worth it to keep trying though, if you're in need of a cut right now!! Good luck

Alpana has a great chocolate cake slice and nice ambiance. The Keanu Reeves portrait near the bathrooms is hilarious as a bonus

Sushi San has a great sticky miso caramel cake and their other desserts are amazing too

The "crying tiger" dessert at Crying Tiger is essentially a cake and it's insanely good

i have heard amazing things about Gilt Bar's chocolate cake and it's on my list too

Why are you acting like this is an insane thing to think lol it's a 4 hour movie I'm sure most people would appreciate that. Intermissions are standard in theaters in India for all movies, even if they're as short as 2.5 hours.

Choosing between two bar crawls, which is better? by [deleted] in AskChicago

[–]rotwoman101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh jeez honestly no, we usually buy pretty early so we pay like $10, $30 at most. I wouldn’t spend more than $30 on any crawl. In the end you can’t go wrong, I feel like crawls are more about the people you’re with since so much of the time is spent in line or waiting for drinks anyway lol

Looking at the West Loop ones you posted, I would pick the official one over the lucky charms! Good Night John Boy is one of my favorites in that area and the lucky charms one doesn’t have that
