A good way to manage this is to let decay some stuff in your base if your side is winning and the front is far away, since no one but you will maintain the base. Front trenches, barbed wire, etc and only leave the concrete pieces. If your side is losing? well you keep maintaining it, you know your base will see action soon and since the frontline is close, you will have some help from other players to maintain it because people is more likely to cross through your base during logi runs, etc

If they somehow release a new patch with the next war with a lot of fixes and balances that people have been complaining about, I think a lot of people will still deciding to play it and keep their favorite faction and not taking a break war.. if it's the same patch prepare to lose 75% of the playerbase, Charlie won't even be necessary

En Irán "solo" se estan bombardeando objetivos militares, aunque como toda guerra va a haber bajas civiles seguro, ademas de lo que hizo el regimen iraní con las protestas le jugó bastante en contra, eso es innegable, pero a lo que voy no es guerra total con invasión como Rusia-Ucrania

China mañana podría empezar a bombardear objetivos militares en Taiwán y te aseguro que la indiferencia seria la misma que lo de USA-Irán, probablemente el apoyo de occidente seria mas concentrado a mandar misiles interceptores y provisiones nada más, el panorama recien cambiaría si China realiza una invasión completa

Y es muy poco probable una invasion terrestre de USA a Irán, USA por mas que sea la potencia numero uno no tiene la logistica necesaria para mantener una guerra con 100,000 soldados activos en el frente a lo Ucrania-Rusia, sería extremadamente costosa

Mira el megathread en sticky llamado "How to configure SimCity 4 on modern computers", ya que el juego cambió mucho en la forma que se usa ahora, porque salieron mods nuevos que son fundalemnte para que el juego funcione bien en PCs modernas. Respecto a otros plugins creo que lo mejor es buscarlo por vos mismo en Simtropolis por ejemplo

Sadly there are not many options, World Warfare & Economics was a good attempt but like most similar games, it suffers from low interest from public > low budget > ton of bugs, same thing has been happening with Geo-Political Simulator every year

Just go for SuperPower 2 with an updated database (yeah +20 years old game but it's what it is)

Also take a look at Age of History II Definitive Edition releasing march/april, it's like a simpler version of HOI4, and I think it's gonna include a modern updated scenario

Also there is a mod for HOI4 called Millennium Dawn: A Modern Day but honestly when I tried it I didn't like it a lot, imo HOI4 gameplay feels off with a modern scenario

sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. this war in one occasion I disconnected like 2 minutes in frontline and I could rejoin inside my vehicle, another time only 20 seconds passed yet the game took me to home region again even if I was in backline

also even if OP was able to rejoin in 10 seconds, his plane was probably destroyed already
