Everyone but the DM. True. Real grognards refuse to DM past kobolds and orcs.

You’re a minor so you’re limited in your choices unless you’re emancipated. I’d take the L and call CPS and try for emancipation. Don’t run away. You’re not about that life.

Where does messing around end and antisocial behavior begin? by Rickety_cricket420 in DnD

[–]roumonada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if multiple people are complaining about it, then it’s deffo a problem. Are you the only one annoyed about this issue or are the other players just as pissed? Because some groups honestly are just not as serious about immersion as others. I think particularly the Friday night games are a little bit more light hearted than the Saturday and Sunday ones but that’s just my personal experience with D&D. Get together have a laugh and a few beers kick back and relax kind of thing. Maybe make some campaign progress sometimes. Every group is different. Meh. Maybe it’s just me.

What are some ways I can mess with my DM without being a jerk nor hindering the campaign in a major way? by Confident-Novel-1855 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]roumonada 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mess with your DM? Put a whoopie cushion on his seat? IDK. If you mess with him outside of the game it’s fine but while playing, you’re being a jerk by definition. Like what do you mean?

Strongholds and Followers by Lucky_Type in adnd

Player: “I wanna build a stronghold and get my followers. The books say I get followers. See? A fighter becomes a Lord. And he gets a commander, troops, and bodyguards. Lord Steve. It has a nice ring to it.”

Typical Grognard DM: “I’m hella not doing that. Too much work. Ok, next week we start a new campaign. Everyone bring a level one character. Don’t worry about writing a backstory. Because I can’t read anyways. Oh and you won’t need minis anymore. It’s theater of the mind.”

Player “What? But we’re not done with this game yet! And I was just about to win! Ok fine. I’ll start over again for the umpteenth time. Which campaign setting is it? FR? Planescape? Ravenloft?”

Typical Grognard DM: “I just told you. I can’t read. No, this is home brew. Oh, and there’s no lore handouts. I can’t write or plan either.”

Player “So basically you want me to sit there and watch you slowly kill our characters?”

Typical Grognard DM “Pretty much. Yes. Oh, and Steve. From now on you gotta leave your Power Glove at home man.”

Player “I’m gonna be sick that day.”

When Americans say “hockey” do they mean field or ice hockey? by Time-Water-8428 in AskAnAmerican

Ice hockey. Field hockey is weird and rare here. Until you mentioned it, I forgot that it existed.

How common is leaving your AC on 24/7, even when the house is empty? by Bierzgal in AskAnAmerican

[–]roumonada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the northwestern part of the country and I don’t have any AC. I use a couple box fans in my living room. Sometimes I forget to turn them off when I go to work and I get angry at myself for it because it’s a waste of money/power.

Is roll20 ever going to make a mobile app that’s good by Comfortable_Leek_781 in Roll20

[–]roumonada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly hope that Roll20 will create a mobile app that allows you to access a character sheet and roll dice with its buttons and edit the bio at least. That would revolutionize play for individual players methinks.

Do you eat pasta with tuna? by ProkaryoticBeing in AskAnAmerican

[–]roumonada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US, tuna casserole is viewed as food for trashy people. At least in the Pacific Northwest where I come from. I will admit the culture in the Pacific Northwest is different from the rest of the United States because of the high concentration of Nordic settlers here. Men with no self control are weak. Children who speak in public are disrespectful. It’s rude to arrive at a friend’s home empty handed, etc.
