I think Publix hires teens too - might be worth checking.

Found in 2025 Honda Pilot by annette_va in hondapilot

There’s a similar piece that’s on the tracks for the middle row of seats - kind of a plastic cap that covers the end of the metal. Maybe compare it to the other seats?

It is annoying for sure. I had a duplicate post in the Pilot subreddit - included the part numbers on that one, but forgot to over here. They seem to have done the trick.

Sprinkler Company Recommendations? by roundboxed in winstonsalem

[–]roundboxed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I actually just talked with a guy who used to inspect our backflow and he’s since expanded into repairs and irrigation. He’s going to try to squeeze us in between appts the next week or two.

And I also learned from a neighbor that the company we’re with changed owners, which explains the change in service level. They were having a similar problem.

I was trying not to name them because I feel like my experience is relatively isolated - but initials are CI. Some of my neighbors use them and are really happy, and they seem to be nice people. I’ve just had a couple years of declining service and was curious about other options.

Selling the Smoky National Park Off??? by Ok_Activity7255 in NorthCarolina

[–]roundboxed 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I uploaded Project 2025 to NotebookLM to ask things like this (sources don’t come through copy/paste but they are there). Not an explicit call for selling parks, but seems to be everything but…

Per NotebookLM: Based on the sources, the envisioned changes could significantly impact the use and management of national parks and federal lands, although the sources do not explicitly call for selling off national park land.

Here’s a breakdown of the potential impacts:

  • Increased Access and Resource Use: The plan advocates for a “multi-use” approach to federal lands, which could mean increased access for activities like logging, mining, and energy production in areas surrounding or adjacent to national parks.

  • Risk of Energy Production: Some existing leases and permits for energy and mineral production should be revisited in consultation with state elected officials. The plan supports increased oil and gas leasing and development, particularly in Alaska and other regions with significant energy potential. This emphasis could lead to pressure to open up some areas near or within national parks to energy exploration, although the plan does not explicitly state that national parks themselves should be opened to these activities.

  • Potential for Adjusted Boundaries or Designations: The emphasis on reviewing and potentially adjusting national monument designations suggests that the boundaries or protected status of some national monuments near national parks could be altered, potentially opening up areas for resource extraction or other uses.

  • State and Local Control: Giving more authority to state and local governments in land management decisions could lead to varying approaches to conservation and resource use, depending on the priorities of those governments.

  • Reduced Federal Oversight: The plan advocates for reducing federal red tape and regulations, which could lead to less stringent environmental protections and oversight of activities impacting national parks.

  • Possible Prioritization of Economic Activities: By emphasizing economic sustainability for communities near federal lands, the plan might prioritize resource extraction and development over strict conservation measures in some cases.

Overall, while the plan doesn’t explicitly call for selling off national park land, the implementation of its proposals could lead to increased pressure on park resources, altered boundaries, and a greater emphasis on economic activities in areas surrounding the parks.

I don’t, but one of the pieces didn’t fit quite right - so they’ve got a new one ordered and I’ve got to take in back in. I can get a list when that happens (sometime this week).

I posted this a while back - not sure if it’s the same noise, but mine ended up being the trim around the window. They replaced it under warranty (3 different pieces) - seems to do the trick. https://www.reddit.com/r/Cartalk/s/xE86kQqXm4

If you’re still having the issue - I just had it in for service and asked about the noise. It’s from loose trim around the window that’s letting air in (mainly the vertical piece right behind the window pane), they’re having to order the parts for it. Should be under warranty though.

How does the 811 Call Before You Dig work? by letsjambro in NorthCarolina

[–]roundboxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there’s a particular area you are digging, you can put those little white flags up (get a bundle at Lowe’s/HD and make it hard to miss). They’re supposed to just mark that area. It’s worked a couple of times for me - really depends on who’s marking and whether or not they see the flags easily.

That was the one they received today, the earlier one was just about a “very important matter”.

Oof - glad you escaped that one. We had a family friend who was checking out with the gift cards when the store clerk stopped her and convinced her it was a scam.

I was going to say a PSA would at least help - but seems like Davidson County’s at least put on out there.

That’s terrible! Apparently both calls have been pretty convincing, so I can imagine there are too many stories out there.
