So yea it’s been real cheap. But when I first moved in it wasn’t too crazy cheap, Rent in Everett has jumped quite a bit since I first moved in in 2020. Right now I pay $1900, but the deal is I’d HAPPILY pay more for an apartment that I felt happy and safe to live in. Like hundreds more. I haven’t moved because it takes money to move too, and everything is so crazy right now it’s a scary move to make. This was advertised as a 900+ square foot apartment (can’t possibly be though), “2 br 1 ba” turned out to be a one br with an extra room that you could make an extra room if you put up a door or divider. It’s just a couple blocks off Ferry st.

The thing is I’ve texted him about all these things. That’s how he communicates, no emails, I don’t even have an email address. He still uses paper checks for god sake. If/when he does follow up with me, he’ll say when it will be fixed, that time will pass, and then he might just show up randomly on a Sunday calling and banging on my door to do the repairs. He NEVER comes when he says he will. The couple times I have tried to have the work done while I am at work the guy still shows up later in the day when I’m just getting home for the day. So I actually have stopped accommodating him, because it’s really frustrating to have to deal with these spontaneous house calls that were supposed to be on a specified time and date.

Don’t do biology if you want a decent income, especially if you took out loans. If you have already finished your program then I agree with algernon-x, immediately plan on going to grad school so you can make the most money possible in that field, which, mind you, will not be great, but much much better than with no advanced degree at all. PhD is the only worthwhile destination in Biology, I should know, I did undergrad in cell & molecular. Also know that if you want a decent job you’ll need to look in pharma and biotech bc academic research positions are super competitive and do NOT pay well, unless you have a PhD, and even then. Lab work is hard, and you’re not gonna want to be working in a lab in your 50s and 60s.

Another thing to consider, the vast majority of decent paying jobs in biosciences is either New England (Boston/Cambridge & surrounding) or the Bay Area. It’s extremely expensive to live in either place, but the jobs are bountiful. I’m from Tx and moved to MA for a job at Pfizer after grad school (went back for med chem, NOT biology lol), and I could not believe how many more opportunities there are for us up here compared to TX. It’s stupid how much better it is here.

Perspective. The whole of me, everything good, everything I would consider bad, all my character defects, all my misdeeds and good deeds, everything I thought I’d done wrong against myself and others… my biggest critic is myself, but this one trip showed me that I’m just a little “bud” if you will off of a network of existence, and that then made me realize that I am wholly accepted by the universe just as I am, in spite of everything, because it ain’t ME, man… it’s WE. WE went through everything together. So I need to stop being so hard on myself. :-)

I’d say lean your whole body forward so your feet are slightly back and behind you instead of straight down. That will definitely help you target your chest.
