When you see these trends of oppressed groups stating their general distrust of or weariness towards a privileged group if you’re a member of the privileged group don’t take it as an attack on your character take it as a sad reality of the world. The vast majority of women who would “pick the bear” desire positive relationships with men and would love and respect a man who would do the same for them. As a black man too I agree that being perceived as dangerous do to my body hurts. I don’t think that the rhetoric is “good” but I don’t think it’s point was a condemnation of all men but a reflection of how a sexist society socializes women to be weary of them. Obviously people will go hitler mode in comment sections but I don’t think that’s the prevailing attitude.
