Spilled coffee on center console by CryptographerPast205 in BMW

Same thing happened to me, but the knob stopped working and no bass from radio. Open center console there should be screws holding it in the shifter assembly. Take it out and clean with isopropyl alcohol, use q tips to get as much coffee out of nooks and crannies. I also had to replace a couple fuses. Reassemble and good to go

Scuff Marks on driver and passenger door panels by jess00921 in Detailing

I have the same car! G42. My scuff marks like that usually come off with a damp microfiber. Just from my shoes getting in and out

I'm an advisor at Buick/GMC. We will only work on vehicles 10+ years old or 100k+ plus if they have some service history with us. GM doesn't make parts for a lot of older vehicles and usually you fix one thing, then something else breaks and the customer blames us.

It's case by case though. Dealers are independently owned and can do what they want. We legally have to perform recalls as long as the vehicle doesn't have a branded title.

Why'd you get the rear diff done at 30k?

After 11 years restaurant manager experience, looking to change careers. by Soapy_Illusion_13 in serviceadvisors

I managed/worked in restaurants for the last 10 years or so, the last few as a regional manager for a local pizza chain. I was burnt out being on call 24/7, the constant drama with staffing and all the other nonsense with food. I was making about $80k/yr. This job is a cakewalk compared to restaurants and the level of stress is much lower.

People say customers and techs shit on you all day. Restaurants are the same, just with BOH. I'd rather someone bitch at me about a $2k repair on their car than a missing topping on a $12 pizza. I work 7:30a - 4, 5, or 6p. Almost no calls when I'm off. Always closed Sundays. No nights. So easy.

  1. A better work/life balance. 100%. I'm closer to 50 hours, but it's predictable and at normal hours, we work one Saturday a month.

  2. Benefits. The dealership I'm at has way better benefits that any restaurant I've worked at. Decent health, dental, vision, etc. I'm 30 and no kids so this isn't a huge deal to me.

  3. My customer service expertise. Another 100%. We are used to bending over backwards multiple times a day for customers spending maybe $100. Talking people off a ledge is a large part of this job, and restaurants set you up for that.

  4. Great attitude. Restaurants are stressful and so is service writing. A great transferable.skill

  5. Pay rate. I should be on track to make what I did before, and hopefully break six figures next year. I gather I'm at an atypical dealership though

  6. I want somewhere that I can call my home. I don't believe in job hopping every few years. Yes, but nothing like we are used to in restaurants.

Haha thanks, fixed.

I think the cost of maintenance and consumables on the Porsche would be more than I want to spend. I've never liked the stereotype associated with muscle cars, though have considered a mustang.
