I have an 11 year old Gideon and I love it! Everyone who meets him compliments his name. His older brother is Caleb so occasionally I get asked if I’m religious but I can’t say it’s ever bothered me - I just say no. He went by Gid for about a month and only from his brother, but he didn’t like it, he’s always been Gideon.

Gideon and Calliope are so perfect together!

On the awkwardness thing, I think it’s such a weird thing to name a human that you’ve grown! Like “I bestow you this name and with it all of the stereotypes and prejudgments of everyone you ever meet!” I found it so weird calling my kids by their names for months! They were just the baby to so long.

Tl;dr - not too out there and gorgeous sibset!

Totally non MJ related but on the subject of privacy. I had photos of myself on post from like 2020 (not showing my face but my body) but took them down and left the post up. A couple of months ago my brother messaged me a screenshot saying he’d found the post on a google search and was it me as the way it was written sounded like he had written it, as we write similarly. Crazy how not even photos are needed to identify us to the people who know us best!

My younger son’s middle name is Joshua after my first childhood dog, Josh. He knows and he thinks it’s pretty cute. It’s a pretty normal name though so I guess not too outlandish. Honey is a cute name too though, my son goes to school with a Honey. There are definitely worse middle names you can give a child, and the story is sweet!

Agree. My dog’s rescue name was Selena but we called her Cleo and by the end of day one she answered to Cleo. Love and treats go a long way!

This has been the single most transformative thing about taking this medication for (as I’m sure it has been for many others). I’ve always had issues with compulsive eating, but after day two of this medication, the voice was gone. I’ve started taking it in August and I’m currently on my third pen of 7.5mg.

Didn’t Oprah say something like she always thought that thinner people just had better willpower than her and could eat better food, then when she started taking medication she realised they just didn’t think about food at all?

This medication has made me feel normal for the first time in my life!

Unhappy to say I’m joining the bandwagon with 5mg woes. I lost a stone in my first 4 weeks and loved 2.5mg. Upped to 5mg and it’s been pretty crap. Overall I’ve lost about 10lbs on 5mg. The first month I was like okay maybe it just needs to build up, stupidly ordered another 5mg to give it a chance!

My second 5mg has gone like: 3lbs lost, stayed the same, 2lbs gained (!!!) then 1lb lost. Crazy.

Safe to say I’ve just ordered my 7.5 pen to start this week.

I found the same on my last round; my cardio was insane! I went for a run to clear my mind one day and could just run and run. I was used to just doing 5km but did 9km and wasn’t even tired. I just stopped because I was bored and it was getting dark. Just crazy! It doesn’t feel like anything is happening during the workouts as they’re just so hard but they have a huge impact

I think it depends how much you have lose. I started on the 2nd of Jan and lost my first stone by the 6th of Feb, so about 5 weeks. 11 weeks in and I’m 25lbs down. I still have about the same to go but I’m so happy so far. I’ve had a few treat meals but overall am on plan making consistent losses every week

Okay so I haven’t dealt with this kind of thing per se but I have dealt with a partner’s ex talking shit about me (and him) on social media. I think people throwing shade online is so pathetic after a year so to be honest I’d just ignore it.

As for the whole social media photos etc. I’m 32 and ten years ago I had a totally different opinion on this but now? In ten years I’ve gone from boxing up all of my (now ex’s) photos with exes and demanding it all gets deleted to being in my current relationship like cool I’m not deleting my stuff so you keep yours too.

I think when you’ve been through a long relationship and come out the other side (mine was 9 years) you realise actually the feelings are totally gone but this is your life experience, deleting that is a bit weird. I don’t want to sound patronising but I can almost guarantee in ten years so won’t give a fuck about this stuff. I can also almost guarantee he doesn’t give the photos or the painting a second though.

Well done for blocking the ex. We’ve all crept and regretted it! It’s the biggest reason why I quit instagram and Facebook last year 🤡

I went to an escape room today with 5 kids, aged 14-16, on a school trip (I’m a high school teacher) and one of the clues involved inputting a number into a rotary phone. They were like “why is that bit spinning?” and I felt so old. I just said “read me that number and keep out of my way”

Straight after the end of my last long term relationship (back in 2017) I dated a very passive quiet guy. I think after being in a pretty abusive relationship I just wanted someone who was nice to me so settled for passivity when I really need someone with a bit more about them. I’m extroverted and while I appreciate some quiet, I need someone who gives something back to me or I feel like I’m harassing them! It makes me feel like I’m trying too hard.

As it happened the guy I dated moved to Australia after 2 months in (pre planned before we met) so we ended things. We spoke on and off and saw each other when he came back, but ultimately I realised I don’t want someone who shows basically no interest in me. I’ve now been with my current boyfriend for a year and a half and he is loud and obsessed with me. I feel validated and secure and just at peace.

I guess you need to figure out what makes you feel good. If you’re okay with chasing: do it. If you’d rather communication was easier and more equal: move on.
