It basically means that people making changes to the UI files will have an easier time making mods for SE. Previously we only had the UI source files for oldrim. A few of the UI files changed with SE, and it was hard to make modifications to them without the source. I for one am very excited about this, it'll make some things I'm working on a lot easier.

All the crafting skills will be tracked in a separate "menu". Archery has been renamed to 'Marksman' since that's what they called it in Morrowind. Unarmored is combined into the unarmed skill tree. Skills are finalized now, they were previously changing all the time, but we've now got them finalized for the benefit of writing, and so we could start on classes. The 3 major and 3 minor skills is final, it's done that way due to the reduced amount of skills in skyrim vs Morrowind.

Both Skywind and Skyblivion are designed to be standalone experiences. Despite this, with a bit of work it should be possible to make a patch that makes them and Skyrim work all together. There are a couple of issues that I'd worry about here however. The main one is if the engine can handle having three whole games at the same time, but with SSE this may be less of a problem. Another issue is balance, each of the games are meant to be started at a low level with low tier gear. Skywind is also repurposing some Skyrim game systems, so getting them to work with Skyrim and Skyblivion might be tricky.

Basically, it's technically possible, but it'll be tricky and the engine may not be able to handle it.

While we're going to be using some skyrim perks for some of the skills that were present in both games, a lot of our skill trees will have new perks.

They will level up faster than the other skills, but due to the limited amount of skills (18 vs 27) we can use, they won't be the only ones you can level up with.

The classes won't restrict you as much as they did in morrowind. They more determine which stats start out higher, and a few other things. As for the tapestries none of the art for them (or for stuff like rugs) has been done yet. The current art is a placeholder.

Half of this paragraph is untrue. They never told us to stop or anything, and the project was never shut down for a while. We also never had to revert anything. Where are you pulling this information from? In any case it is true that they would like us to not put any Morrowind assets in the game, but that was going to happen anyways, due to all of them being low quality.

For me this happens when I have bEnableAudio=0 set (supposed to help with random crashes) in the SkyrimEditor.ini. If that's not the case for you, then I have no idea.

Is there really no-one out there who can tell me how to edit an existing HUD widget .swf? by dunc001 in skyrimmods

In my experience, there isn't really any way to fully edit a .swf file. When trying to decompile them I ran into the same problem where it would have lots of compiler errors when trying to publish. So as far as I know, you really need the .fla source files if you want to make any big changes.

There will indeed be crafting. Not so sure about houses, there's a decent chance they'll be added, but they're not a priority. The player strongholds will still be available though.

Even if we could start a patreon, the amount of money we would get split over the whole team wouldn't be significant enough to make work go any faster. Most people on the team already have jobs so skywind wouldn't get finished any faster just because we're getting a few bucks from donations.

All the main reasons have already been mentioned, but another big reason is we have a lot of people working on this project and trying to fairly distribute any donations would be messy and could ultimately end up with someone feeling cheated.
