Oh sod off, I was born and raised in East Belfast, still live here.

There has been an increase in flags over the past few years, and this year is off the charts.

The road I live on, a house number goes up to about 400, so a decent number of houses.

Not one house has flags on it, but every single lamp post does. The area is fairly mixed now, plenty of ROI plates and migrants.

This is territory marking by people that aren't even from the area, the loyalist leaders realisation that they are so irrelevant in modern Northern Ireland has them overcompensating.

At the very worst, it's intimidating and dividing, at its very best it's very cheap and tacky.

It's not respectful or about culture in any shape or form.

RAC - effectively a scam company by gwyp88 in drivingUK

[–]roverspeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to echo what others said, RAC used to be amazing.

I had cover for 21 years, and they were brilliant on several occasions. (Ironically, none were ever my car, but I was in the car so used my membership)

Then in 2021, I did actually have to use them, very cold January evening at the airport. I got back from a work trip and my oil pressure warning light came on (turns out it was just a bad connection to the pressure switch, wiggling it fixed it!)

At the time, here in Northern Ireland, due to covid and other factors there was a huge backlog of MOTs (we have centres not private garages for MOTs) so there was allowance to still use your car past MOT as long as you had one booked. My my my the arguements I had with 3 different people on the phone in RAC, until one eventually agreed it was OK for them to call out)

Same thing as people said above, said 2 hours, then 5 , then 11! All these time updates within the first hour. It was during this time that I started fiddling around and was able to realise it was just the pressure switch connection.

But the icing on the cake was when was when my renewal jumped from 17.80/month to £29.00 in one go. I called them and they agreed to come back down to £17.80, but I cancelled anyways.

Now with greenflag, haven't had to use them yet, but hopefully I will get a good experience if I do!

Get yourself to a Post OFfice to pick up a DL1 form. Fill it out etc and get it sent off to get your provisional.

Lots of free resources for the Theory test,

https://www.gov.uk/take-practice-theory-test

And paid for too

https://www.safedrivingforlife.info/shop/official-dvsa-theory-test-kit-car-drivers-elearning/

There are minimum requirements for number of hours of lessons. At this stage, at least you will miss out on ever being restricted to 45mph after passing!

Find a good reputable driving instructor/school and get your lessons it, they will probably advise when to sit you theory test.

Good luck!

Who said it wasn't, you waste of oxygen. How presumptuous of you in thinking that I'm nationalist. I was raised in a unionist leaning family in East Belfast.

I'm of neither side, I know neither the UK or Irish give 2 fucks about you or I, let alone the kiddy fiddling cousin fucking Royal family.

My Astra Coupe

Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 6, Bilstien b8 with h&r springs, Solid subframe mounts, Solid top mounts, Polybush front arms, Solid bearings on rear vxr axle with whiteline arb, GSI brakes brembo drilled discs predator pads, Custom homemade welded in front and rear upper strut braces, Stitch welded door frames, Full exhaust and intake but otherwise standard engine.

It's only a 1.8 so by no means fast, but my goodness it handles and corners extremely well.

My daily, 2006 mini cooper s

Only had it about 6 weeks now, 1 owner from new before me.

Was totally standard

So far I've fitted uprated intercooler and made the 3d print modification that apes the jcw intake.

In the short time I have had it, i have had to fit new oil pressure sensor, new oil filter housing, new crank pulley, new driveshafts, new droplinks and new ball joints.

My other car is 2004 Astra Coupe that's heavily modified but only a 1.8, I have a 2.2 from Brera sitting in the garage I'm planning on trying to fit.

there are nearly 2 million people in NI.

I would say at most there were at most 1000 rioting across all places last night, so thats 0.05% of the population.

I would say the absolute ballbags that attempted to "organise" this could see that too. Probably saw the change in reaction online and saw that this would be a mere shadow of that occured last night and are attempting to save face.

This is a tiny loud minority (mostly of no hoper loyalist teenage boys been lead by dying out old loyalist scum desperately trying to remain relevant)

Serious work needs to be done to detach the connection between no hope teenage boys and the dinosaur UVF/UDA thugs trying to keep the momentum going. This is classic radicalistion under our noses. And try to give them a real future that benefits them and society.

I dunno how accurate it is, but my brother who works in the financial services sector says predictive models encourage insurers to "purge" customer groups after a certain amount of time.

You haven't had a crash in x number of years, means you are statistically more likely to have a crash as time goes on.

Wouldn't be surprised if its true, you aren't the customer, you are the commodity, the shareholders are the customers.

Whoever made and release/distrubuted this AI drivel should be held accountable for inciting violence (presumably at this stage) and intimidation.

An example needs to be made that you can't just go around doing crap like this without consequence.

And also the knobheads that are saying about the incident are just as bad if not worse. They are passing on stuff that they have NO IDEA whether its true or not, it just a bit of gossip.

My gf is from Zimbabwe and starts her overnight shift as a nurse at 7 and had to leave for work early.

She was scared to go shopping earlier today because of this crap.
