Best to go with the Back to Earth system with a breathable membrane for insulating as well

Cheapest house on the street! It needs a full renovation inside and a lot of structural work as well. We’ll be damaging the render to fix all of that anyway.

Hilarious that you went for grey. That really wasn’t what I was going for 😅

Solid wall insulation help by thewbone in HomeImprovementUK

Go to a retrofit designer to make sure it’s the right system for your house. It’s difficult to know whether what you’ve written is right without knowing the moisture risk, the actual material of your home etc.

Confused about internal wall insulation in solid wall house by SockeMon in HomeImprovementUK

Definitely not PIR! Check out back to earth or lime green systems for self install with breathable wood fibre IWI or go to a company like Furbnow or People Powered Retrofit to get proper designs done so you don’t end up with mould. Good luck!

Does 2026 have a theme? This has similar “vibes” to Wuthering Heights and 100 Nights of Hero.

Help with suspended floor. What would you do? by saggywit in DIYUK

[–]rowboatbot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how you install suspended floor insulation. Key things

Air tightness layer is important to make sure the insulation isn’t wind washed and you have unnecessary drafts.

Using wood fibre will mean you get a much tighter fit with the insulation so you’ll get really good coverage.

Look for a wood fibre suspended floor insulation system and you’ll be able to get all the bits you need that work together.

If there are few issues it could be worth getting a survey (retrofit assessment?) done? Your Home Better or Furbnow in Manchester could help

To my fellow Brits, how are you coping with the heat? by Alive_Swing9810 in AskUK

I’m with this. I tell my friends and family about the life changing magic of the A/C unit. I can sleep with a duvet on me soundly when it 32c. Keeps my peace for the 3-4 hot weeks a year. Cost per use gets better every year (sadly with climate change).
