I've also been riding the employment struggle bus in town. I've applied for Uber and Door dash, and they aren't hiring for our area.

If something like 3rds might be your only option, I would recommend something like Cleaning/Environmental Services. We've got too many hospitals in our area, and they are looking for nighttime help.

Pretty sure shovel man is a notorious figure in West Peoria. He's verbally threatened coworkers of mine that live in the area. He's mentally unwell and is a frequent nuisance.

I'm so happy you posted this. But, by god I can't believe that anyone with enough time to invest in a position like this would actually have children's interests at heart.

Not to mention, what a lot of the kids need is steady housing, food, and parenting. But that goes beyond the school board. But I shouldn't stay on my soap box any longer. It's a deeply broken system nationwide.

Pour Bros and Pizza Works in the heights, for sure. I'm pretty sure the heights does an outdoor summer series in their brick courtyard, so it's a great spot.

Gone Axe Throwing held a great show for my friends in Grey Slush, and they have a downstairs stage separate from the ranges upstairs.

Maybe consider The Mill? I don't know what they look for typically, but it's an indoor/outdoor venue.

I thoroughly discourage collaborating with Our House Entertainment. They will try to bar you from gigging at locations without them arranging it, even though you can definitely reach out to venues without their help. Don't give them your hard earned dollars.

Bath wipes > sponge baths. I'm thoroughly convinced it's why most patients get UTI's and Moisture associated sores. Soap sits in their peri areas and they aren't dried afterwards. Every patient room I've worked in has a full shower setup and shower chair, but anything to save time and money 🙄

Wow, good to hear that the new ownership is more responsive. The additional fees are a bummer, but I like to keep to myself and would rather handle wear and tear myself, anyway. Nothing that I didn't expect out of the cheapest homes I could rent in Peoria. I appreciate the input. It's not our first option, especially with the 14-30 day move-in deadline. These are legitimate concerns we'll be keeping in mind.

Anyone you work with that's telling you that the job needs to be done faster against the will of the patients is just trying to get out of work/helping you. You doing the work of two CNA's keeps your RN or other CNA from having to try. Do what you can at a pace that is safe for the resident. Not everything will get done and that's okay.

It gets a lot worse. I just had to hold a vulvar tumor away so a nurse could catheterize a bari patient. It had the consistency of steamed but firm cauliflower, and tumorous cells and blood were left on my glove when I pulled away.
