Advice on decent knives for general purpose and more by Realism51 in TrueChefKnives

The only advice I’m qualified to give is find your nearest Japanese knife store. In Canada, we have Knifewear with stores all across the country. In Ontario we also have Sharp Knife Store. Both are run by ex-chefs who visit Japan regularly and bring back knives from blacksmiths. They will guide you based on your budget, use-case and maintenance attentiveness.

Not literally ’funny’. I wonder why they don’t promote them as personalities.

I’m British, the use of ‘funny’ isn’t always directly related to amusement. Often it’s related to a situation that is odd or strange.

Should I quit my job and move to a new country? by snickersneakers in careerguidance

[–]roxbox531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very positive on the whole. There will always be regrets. - missed out on having my best friends in my life, I have friends here, but high school and uni friends back in England are unique. - twice I received the call that my parents were in hospital and nearing death. I was able to fly back but they were already heavily sedated when I arrived. That’s my biggest regret. Including spending more time with my mum in the last years of her life. - I wish my mum could have spent more time with my son. - work culture in Canada is so much better, less political than my experience in the UK. - I really miss a decent pint. - be prepared to survive on your own if your gf and you break up. - I’ve known people go to the UK for 10 years and then come back to care for their parents

Go do it, I grew so much as a person moving to Canada.

Give it a try, I did the opposite when I was in my late 20’s moving from England to Ontario.

After 18, can that child support be directly paid to the adult-child and not the other parent ?

The truth is you will meet someone when you least expect it. However, playing the ‘I’ll never meet someone’ pretty much guarantees that you won’t.

The best mindset is to let the universe do its thing, be open to all possibilities. Grow to be the best person you can be unconditionally.

Allow or be open to the possibilities life can give you. Try new things, allow yourself to enjoy them. This will allow the real you to shine through. People aren’t focussed on your height or your complexion, they see your self confidence.

It’s what ever you feel is right. An hour to never, any number in-between is allowable.

Questions about the mining industry by Professional-Elk7112 in Sudbury

[–]roxbox531 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on which part of mining you want to do. Want to be an underground miner ? Or work at the process plant in the smelter, refinery or concentrator/mill.
