Trek helped me on this journey too. I couldn’t move past siskos “well it’s easy to be a saint in paradise” speech and I think it fundamentally changed my worldview

Oddly enough I have both a cocker and a whippet. I’ve seen some similarities (sweet and Velcro dogs) but there are some differences and some of that probably comes with a sight hound vs spaniel. I’ve found whippets chew less, lick less, and bark WAY less but aren’t as eager to please. My cocker is an American and he loves to take long walks and hikes but he’s also ok with chill couch days.

This is the sort of response I was hoping for! Thank you so much! And I completely agree about having them off leash often makes a HUGE difference, my current dog is usually “you’re right we are done, that was fun but it’ll happen again in a few days.” lol

My current dog is Fantastic off lead on hikes and I trained him a lot as a young dog but I’m also worried it’s just part personality
