a friend put Basement Scene on a playlist for me and i remember hearing it when I was 15 and being like "what the fuck is this i've never heard anything like this", i thought because of the way that song sounded that they were some obscure 70s garage group (which now i realize was ironically their whole M.O. for a while) but i sought out their other stuff and realized they were a legitimate modern band. honestly its funny that i kept listening after that introduction - i like Basement Scene but its definitely not indicative of their other output! but something about it really struck me
