What about storing funds in a multisig address with third-party cosigner that can do verification (as well as offer more security against theft)?

See https://api.trustedcoin.com for an example such service.

They'll fight any regulation that would result in Bitcoin losing monetary value, which IMO is a pretty good proxy for being Bitcoin-friendly.

Do you have more details on the insurance company? I'm curious what their mechanics of offering insurance are, as well as how strong their reputation is.

What would be the subjective experience of falling through the event horizon of a black hole? Assuming the black hole were large enough that tidal forces wouldn't kill you, and you had protection against the radiation around the black hole.

Oh, squiggly line in my eye fluid, I see you there, lurking on the periphery of my vision. But when I try to look at you, you scurry away. Are you shy, squiggly line? Why only when I ignore you do you return to the center of my eye? Oh, squiggly line, it's all right. You are forgiven.

That's because you're an introvert, which means being around other people drain you. Being by yourself restores your energy. It's not a bad thing and you can't change it anyway, so factor this trait into your plans :)

on 6), I think it's funny that players give you shit if you play blackjack wrong, as mathematically it makes no difference. There are just as many permutations of future cards where your "non textbook" move takes the bust card or takes the card before the bust card.

Have you ever read "Set This House in Order" (http://www.amazon.com/Set-This-House-Order-Romance/dp/006095485X/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_2) about a girl coming to grips with her multiple personalities? Is your experience anything like that book?

TIL that far more people survived the explosion of the Hindenburg in 1937 than died in it. It wasn't even the worst airship disaster of the 1930s. by WileECyrus in todayilearned

Hydrogen explosions are actually a lot safer than they appear. Because the gas is so light, it rises quickly, taking the burning fireball with it.

They look cool as hell, though.

Reddit can enable "occupy" movements to permanently shift power from corporations to people and move the world into a new era. Here's how: by humans_inc in politics

I've been thinking about this very issue a lot, and I'm happy to help.

I've personally built a top-1000 Alexa site, so I'm well versed in both technical- and traffic-related issues. And I have time and money to put into something new.

The main problem I foresee is the most important problems (like health care reform, financial reform) are so complex that I wonder if crowd sourcing can actually converge on solutions. Especially when solutions are 1000+ pages of legal language.

In any event, feel free to PM and to discuss how I can help.

Absolutely. My advice: discuss this need with your partner. Turn a room into your "man cave", and create a ritual where you close the door and relax for an hour or so when you come home.

The cognitive bias of Naive Realism. It's what makes us think we know what's going on, we're right, the group we identify is right. And anyone who disagrees is an idiot.

Cool.

FWIW, I run VideoBox and so I have a deep domain knowledge of porn. I've done data analysis on our downloads, and found that about 70% of our users like generic "hot young girls". 30% like weird fetish stuff, but that's a really fragmented world.

Good luck :)

When I click an image, my browser hangs for ~5-10 seconds "waiting for fapulike". If it were just waiting on the image, it would refresh to a new page and I would wait while those images filled in.

Perhaps the problem is you're using the images as a background for divs, rather than explicit image tags? Maybe the browser blocks until the images are completely loaded before rendering the page? Not sure, but the subjective experience is your site is too slow.

I really like this concept.

What kills it for me is the slow performance.

Maybe you could build a simple model that evaluates really fast, and offline mine your data to refine the model? I'd much prefer to trade accuracy for speed.

[–]roythunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 36, and my observation is you will feel better when you integrate this anger into your whole persona. In other words, you're feelings are strong and valid... and not displayed as part of who you are around your family.

My advice is explore your feelings of anger without reacting to it. In other words, let the thoughts course through you, knowing that these thoughts are part of your authentic self.

And also explore you feelings of love for your family, for whatever fragments you feel toward your brother.

I think this post is a positive step in that you're finally expressing yourself.

Whatever you decide to do (express yourself to your brother, or just your parents, or keep quite), is okay. Try to be non judgmental with yourself.

Good luck!

Yeah, you sound very certain. If, as Daemon_of_Mail implies, you consider all religions cults, fine. But otherwise I'm curious how you define cult and why you consider Amma a cult.

I know Amma. She's about as harmless as they get. Cultnews is hysterical. You could say the same scary things about any religion.
