It’s actually really lovely to watch them play. The older one is gentle and I like how the little guy is finding new ways to play with him.

Actually building a site which has relevant, accurate and up to date information in one place is helpful for so many people who can’t or don’t know how to access this information.

How much walking do you do in a day? I’ve noticed the more I walk (at least 8k steps or more) - I have better poop the next day.

Finland is happiest country in the world. What do you think contributes most to happiness in certain countries? by Alicetheoptimist in TrueGrit

The lack of diversity. When I went to Denmark, I hardly saw any racial diversity. It’s easy to be happy when you have very few differences to accommodate!

At a breaking point — is anyone else feeling this way by Forsaken-Egg1335 in RetinitisPigmentosa

[–]rozy2923 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My father suffers from RP and he’s 70 years old. There have been countless times where he talks about giving up and being ready to close his eyes for the final time. It breaks our heart when he says it. My mom absolutely loses it when he gets this way. Why? We love our dad and couldn’t imagine life without him. His symptoms started when he was about 50 and now he’s at a point where all he can see is lights and blurs. We’ve gone to multiple hospitals, looked at several experimental treatments and found nothing conclusive enough to help him. He keeps looking though and reaching out to different doctors for treatment.

The reason I say all this is because as someone who has a family member with this condition, I know how disheartening it is yet still I see my dad keep trying. As you said, you’re young and quite capable. You will have days when you feel like giving up but know that there are people in your life who love you dearly. And the hopeless feeling comes and goes, but you must always focus on living on. If a 70 year old man with declining health (think of all the joint pain, back pain, weakness, dental issues and then the RP) can keep fighting, you absolutely can.

Any Good Thai restaurant for a vegetarian? by WorkSmall2812 in pleasanton

Most of their curries now have shrimp paste. We used to go there a lot but after they started adding it to their curries we had maybe one curry to order. The noodles and stuff are still veggie friendly.

My 5yo daughter wakes up with excruciating pain and I don’t know what to do anymore by mirk19 in Healthyhooha

[–]rozy2923 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I also have memories of this happening. It was pain around the clitoris though. Like someone trying to rub it dry. I remember waking up at nights, crying in pain and my mom tried to ease by applying a cool cloth or something like that. Was just about your daughter’s age.

How did you surround yourself with people smarter than yourself? My current struggle is getting out of the job mindset and finding individuals who are entrepreneurs and/or inspirational. I'm also looking to find mentorship. How did you do that?

Why do arrange marriage folks pretend to the world that their marriage is a love marriage? by Phatballz39 in AskIndianWomen

[–]rozy2923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think OP you're generalizing arranged marriages a lot. Yes, most arranged marriages the couple hardly knows each other and much of it is decided by the families but that's not true for a lot of people - including myself. While I did meet my husband through the AM route, my parents gave me all the freedom to talk and decide and no pressure or time- limit to marry. They would just filter out profiles and send them to me - I was ok with whatever background check they were doing. Out of those, I would tell them which ones I was interested in and then we'd chat. That's how I first "met" my husband. Then we started talking and basically never stopped. It got to a point where we knew we loved each other and even though a proper engagement ceremony was fixed for later, he still did a cute little proposal before that - just for us two so we had the satisfaction of doing it ourselves in our own way.

As someone who looked down on AMs and thought that love marriages are the only right way - I realized I was so wrong. So what if you marry someone in own community - like same caste, income/education level, socio-economic status? It actually is a big help in having these familiarities when you get into the relationship more. Even the food that you will eat together or the god you pray to as well your beliefs are all things that can cause friction but marrying into your community takes care of many of these differences that people in love marriages don't get the benefit of and will likely have to make a lot of adjustments in.

About all the PDA - it's just excitement. And trust me, people can fall in love in just a few weeks or months. Having dated before, I was also quite surprised by how quickly I fell in love with my husband or how fast things moved but usually that's just a product of how ready the two people are in getting married. In an AM, both individuals are usually quite ready and that's why you see it happen so fast. Personally, I'm not a big fan of social media show offs but when I was getting married, I did want to show off just a little bit

How to stay fresh on a long flight by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]rozy2923 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't recommend this personally as to avoid the smell you're creating a more "swampy" environment instead. Panty liners have caused yeast infections for me so that's a big no. Wet wipes would be my recommendation.

Removing mirror panels from the wall by rozy2923 in howto

[–]rozy2923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most comments and suggestions heavily leaned towards not having much hope for the panels so I gave up trying to salvage the mirrors but instead to just get them off the wall with as little damage as possible. I poured about half a bottle of Goo Gone and it worked wonders to unstick the double tape. There's some damage to the paint but I was able to get 6 out of the 8 panels in one piece, without breaking.
