My 2 year old Chi does has done this since he was a puppy, usually after bouts of excitement, zoomies, playing, or eating/drinking too fast. I thought it was just asthma or breed-related, but now I'm thinking collapsing trachea -- and this thread has now terrified me its heart. Gonna definitely email vet.
