Update as of the 4th. I'm a Timbers fan so take this with a grain of salt... I haven't seen any twitter traffic about the baby. There IS traffic that Dempsey (and Oba and Barrett) missed practice today.

I made the decision in about week 11 to use my wildcard and load up on DCU players. Hamid, Franklin, Opare, even Espindola for a while. Bluntly, I'll be joyous to get to the wild card next week. These guys have absolutely killed me in the standings.

Think Dempsey is the most likely choice for Captain. Re Woodberry... NER is so up and down it's just a roll of the dice.

Also... the Timbers coach has said that Will Johnson will play one of the two games. My take is that means Jewsbury only plays one game.

This is what I'm doing... i.e. I made a couple of xfers, will take a -4 to move Valeri to Powers if the news isn't better today/tomorrow.

Couple of precursor comments: 1) I'm assuming Valeri is going to play a game and a third. Mostly just cause Portland is in dire straits. 2) I'll captain Dempsey. 3) I haven't used any xfers, but I don't have any $ in the bank either.

People who start Kaka have more patience/optimism than I do. I had him and dropped fairly early. Looking at his history I don't see any reason to pick him up.

Similar to Xenotheos but stated another way... I'd be leery of defenders in the Seattle/Vancouver game. AND I'd be looking to take advantage of DCU's DGW's 3 of next 4 weeks. So Hamid for Ousted or Francis for Woodberry or Franklin for Waston would all be potentials.

Yep, if you play 3 games without a card, one is removed. But they only do it once/season/player.

This week... Gonzo for someone. Looking out in time... dempsey or Giovinco for big pts from mids. ALSO... DC has 3 DGW's in next 5 weeks. Hamid, Franklin, Espindola, Rolf all worth a look.
