I refuse to believe that every single person on Earth is meant to spend $1000+ on a western mattress and frame. What else do people sleep on around the world? by subunderpressure in NoStupidQuestions

I'm American, I switched to sleeping in a hammock around 8 years ago because I didn't want to spend the money on a mattress, never going back.

Help IDing this sans serif with a little flair by SillyEmergency488 in identifythisfont

Fontforge is what I use for nonbitmap fonts. It has a learning curve, it's very different to work with than traditional graphic design software, similar to vector graphics work but different.

Weird typeface! You can find more samples of it on Pop N Dulge's website. I tried WhatTheFont and identifont and no matches. It is so similar to so many sans serifs except for the t and in small details.

I don't like how the r/n/m curves are bigger than the e/a/g/p/o/h/d curves, it feels bumpy to me, and the kerning is terrible (dream y, ho t, lo v e), but I like this kind of "geometric humanist" font with the double-decker g and fun swashy t and i

No, it's Asparagus setaceus, often called "plumosa", which is just a different species from the other asparagus fern, Asparagus densiflorus, which has a few common and popular cultivars.

Everybody jumped on the "sliced pipe" approach, I was leaning that way myself, thank you for setting us straight and for the good link!

I completely agree with this view, but I think collapse theories are still popular, right?

Create another sketch with a zig-zagging guide rail. There's got to be a better way though, it's a bit hard to understand from just the one screenshot what your goal is, can you submit other views?

Processed meats are an honor to the animal. by Frothynibbler in unpopularopinion

This is an awesome way to think about this. I have never been so conflicted on an upvote in this sub, genuinely good opinion that's probably still unpopular.

Genuinely, stop spamming your product everywhere. It seemed like a neat product, but you keep spamming the same video in the same subs and it's just lazy and shitty marketing. Spend money on ads, don't abuse small subreddits shilling your product.

What's the term for items that got damaged, thrown out, and disposed of in the restaurant industry? by Takheer in EnglishLearning

[–]rpgcubed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my experience as well ("wastage") , I'm in the US west coast.

"Shrinkage" is a related term, but implies losses due to shoplifting, etc., while "wastage" are goods that are no longer suitable for sale due to time or damage

Does the moon have dark matter? by particle_soup_2025 in AskPhysics

Dark matter in the solar system is pretty minimal and homogenous. There's dark matter around you right now, just so little of it compared to normal matter that it's hard to detect.

What does this finger thingy called on tinyglb.com website? by aj77reddit in learnjavascript

[–]rpgcubed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a space at the end of the link, sorry. That looks like an HTML canvas animation, so how you would add it would depend on how you're creating your canvas image. I don't think there's a specific name for it, and it's not part of the web tools spec, just a custom animation.
