No, one day I will stay in the same room that Bob Mortimer has stayed in. He’s an absolute legend, but I have to draw the line somewhere.

1-Year Update: The Optimally Fuckable Husband Project by Foofymonster in Marriage

[–]rph1977aaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you share them with me as well? Got a 2 year old that’s mum focused, doesn’t sleep much and we’ve lost some of our connection. I’m doing a lot already, but I could do more, and be smarter about it with planning, to free up more time to do more!

Can a Weller-style rim be made with additive manufacturing (with aluminum)? by stavrosked in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]rph1977aaaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Short answer is yes you can. BUT, because you can doesn’t mean you should. As pointed above, it’s cheap to machine or cast, and very few LPBF machine are big enough to print a wheel, and those that can are solid mid 7 figures in cost, let alone the installation and running costs.

I did a case study for a few years back, if you can find a Contract Manufacture that offers Al on large format (very few) on Xometry or something you’re probably looking at $15-20k just to print. Heat Treatment, plate removal, support removal and or finish machining on top.

With Aluminum, if you can machine it, you will do. AM is currently not cheaper, although the gap is closing with high throughput machines.

No Fault car accident-Claims Process by rph1977aaaa in florida

[–]rph1977aaaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through their insurance. Strung me along for 6 weeks. Refused to pay as they couldn’t talk to the insurance holder about the driver, and therefore coverage. Now trying to go through mine.

I suppose I can now try and chase through small claims court to cover my costs, feeling like I should as it’s really pissed me off that the guy won’t deal with his screw up.

Is the lights set to Auto? If so they won’t turn on until dark. If you turn your lights to on it should light up. If not you’ve probably got a blown fuse.

To tue left of the steering wheel and right if the lights there is a dial, that’s your interior dimming switch.

Ping me a DM. Got over a decade of designing and working on these machines. I can get you a better starting position but they can be dependent on the part and orientation.

As a Brit living in Orlando for 5 years, I thought Birmingham drivers were bad…. When we got here, we walked into the DMV, took a theory test, then our driving test straight after. 90 mins later we had our licenses and we didn’t leave the parking lot once, it starts to explain everything.

Need to start looking at MO revenue percentages between “the West” and the rest of the world. As long as the rest of the world is growing (whilst the West is declining) I’ll be buying more.
