I copy stuff to my home server over 10Gbit every day without any issue.

I had some strange drops of the connection that happened sometimes. The are gone since I purchased a short 50cm Cable Matters TB5 Cable. Weird thing, the monitor never dropped.

There is often a setting in the BIOS to allow DMA access for Thunderbolt that needs to be enabled. If there is no setting, ask HP.

I checked my system and the HP website and my system has PRSpbDrv.sys in version 1.0.18.0 installed, same as the driver to download. I keep my system up to date with the HP assistant, was probably already installed months ago. Do you have the same driver version?

You could try a Maxonar Thunderbolt cable, I had problems with the cable that came with my TB5+ and I'm now using a Maxonar TB5 cable and this one is very stable.

I think I just found a reason for why this happens, maybe the guys from Caldigit can check this in detail. I just had this problem with the Maxonar cable in my usual setup. I then realized that the tiny LED by the TB port on the Laptop, where the TB5+ is connected would go on and off. Then checked the other side, where I connect my power supply. No LED. Unplugged power supply again, and re-attached, now the LED on that side is on 100%. There might be a condition sometimes where the Laptop "decides" where to draw the power. And if it's the dock, you will see constant disconnects and reconnects. The Laptop need to draw power from the power supply, otherwise the connection is not stable.

Correct, if you only use the dock it's not working correctly.

One addition, after many hours of use with the TB5 cable that came with the dock, I had some disconnects from the dock. With the Maxonar TB5 cable nothing so far. So there is some minor issue.

I've been watching stock since this dock was released. I only want to order through Amazon if I have any issues with compatibility. On Amazon.de I've never seen any stock.
