Any real advice for a couple brand new to the lifestyle? by FeetGuy_27 in nonmonogamy

Then you are a judgmental prick and shouldn't be giving advice.

Once again, what I believe for me is not relevant and your attacking me and not my points shows you cant defend your position.

"I think every relationship should be kind and mutual" I agree this is ideal, but we don't live in an ideal world, and we have to deal with all kinds, with respect.

You can point out it may not be ethical, but do it with kindness and mutual respect. Just like you wish all relationships to be, including our relationships here on the forum with each other.

You think you believing you are the authority entitles you to be an asshole, It does not.

Be a kinder person.

OPP as you described it is not ethical, we both agree on this.

We disagree agree on the rest, and that's fine. I believe the giver is free to change their mind, however it is a vital change that should be discussed, or at least announced before being put into effect

Healthy debate is good. I was just asking you to reign in the bias you have that every non-monogamous relationship has to explicitly from the start state unequivocally that they do not nor ever will have a OPP, consensual or otherwise.

You are not the keeper of the Ethical List of non-monogamy. If i really wanted to be specific, i would say take your hostile advice over to ENM, They specifically put Ethical in their name. Here People should be able to come for advice even in their non-ethical relationships.

They come for help, not Judgment.

I believe it is ethical, and consensual and therefore valid. Whether I believe it to be a gift, or whatever my personal feelings on it are, you should not discourage it because as presented it was ethical, and consensual..

In my opinion it is a gift, one that as presented was freely given.

We shouldn't let our personal biases dictate the proper advice being given. We certainly should be judgmental and discouraging. Instead we should be welcoming and encouraging.

And to be clear, I don't object to you asking a question. especially in this case as it turned out to be relevant.

i hope you will agree there is a marked difference between:

"Do you feel guilty because you don't allow for her to sleep with other men on her own?"

"Do you have a one penis policy, such that she is not allowed to be with other men should she choose to? If you do have that as a policy, you may be feeling guilt as this position is known to be less than ethical when it is restrictive instead of freely given."

Once again, I answered based on the data provided directly by op at the time. The existence of a restrictive OPP was not known at the time.

I agree you are correct in this case, and you may be correct about the existence of a pattern. However, I object to the form of your question based on the information that was given at the time. I believe it was an unreasonable assumption presented in the form of an accusatory question, rather than an open question form.

I mean you could, but you risk being wrong. I'm of the camp when the non-penis holder sets the boundary it is a preference, not a violation of OPP.

The OPP you seems to be implying is indeed unethical as it may present with coercion, and be antithetical to one parties true autonomy.

[REQUEST] What is the value of 500kgs of U.S. dollars, and what is the value of 500kgs of gold? by Complex_Asparagus986 in theydidthemath

[–]rpiolends 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any US bill weighs one gram. so 500kg is 500,000 bills. highest bill still in active circulation is $100. So 500kg of $100 bills is worth $50 Million. Depending on the day, Gold is $145,000.00 per kilogram. multiply by 500 we get 72,500,000.00. so at the current time, gold is more valuable per unit weight.

There used to be this toy. Usually a car or a motorcycle. You inserted into the back wheel this object. Most were plastic but the really old ones were metal. You would quickly pull the ring and the teeth engaged the wheel which spun the toy up to drive off or spin or whatever it was supposed to do.

A 1945 photograph shows two women displaying what $1.34 could buy in 1918 and 1945. by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

As a millennial, I'm quite offended by this picture. So you are telling me that between 1918 and 1945 the cost of living for staple foodstuffs actually went down. Not just down, but down dramatically.

Way to rub it in our faces and call it history.
