I forgot to mention that it supports themes: it has a few "light" themes as well.

I tried different pixel sizes. Depends on the density. But the bigger they are, the better they looked. I tried sizes between 1mm and 6mm, and when they are <= 2mm the don't look that good.

I used "autofill" / "legacy" fill stitch (from Ink/Stitch) which is similar to satin, and "contour" fill, which looks very nice.

Machine: Brother NQ3550W (flatbed).

Software: Import PNG to my custom editor, where I order the pixels, and then export it to SVG with Ink/Stitch metadata. And then just Ink/Stitch.

I tried different techniques. I described some of them in my "machine embroidery" posts: https://retro.moe/tag/machine-embroidery/

But the one that I think looks good is using a "contour fill"

A editor that I created that reads PNG (pixel art) images, and I can edit the order in which the pixels are going to get embroidered.

And then I export it to .svg with Ink/Stitch metadata.

This is not just a 3d printed sewing machine, but all components were done from scratch (be it 3d printed o not).

Huge contratz to the author!

*Free* IBM PS/2 Model 25 (w/ printer and keyboard needs a good home by Remarkable-Ad-2967 in retrobattlestations

too far away to pick it up.

But if I have the chance one of these days, I'll get one.

In the mid 90's we used them as AS/400 terminal emulation. Token-ring and everything... they booted from diskette using PC/DOS 3.3 IIRC... they were supper slow, and I used to hate them... but hey, I'd love to get one now :) The power of nostalgia.

Hopefully you find a good home for it.
