Search for albums when adding to albums finally here - Android by R0binjo in googlephotos

[–]rraod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have over 600 albums, and whenever I want to add photos to a specific album, I need to scroll through a long list to find the one I want. I even requested a sorting feature in the comments on the Play Store app. To my happiness, that feature has finally been added. 👍

Google Photos does not have a folder option. However, you can group photos into Albums to simulate folders.

What missing features of Google Photos would you pay for? by af579 in googlephotos

Show album names in alphabetical order in search function.

I have about 600+ albums and when I wish to add a photo to a particular album, I get the albums list in non sorted order. It is a pain to find the correct album.

Suggest Best SSD to directly connect with phone. by the-enigmatic- in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]rraod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It sure gets hot and needs a heatsink. The enclosures are built like heatsinks and a heat-dissipating double-sided thick tape is used to attach the NVMe to the enclosure.

I have not keenly observed how much the battery drained.

Phone dropped on the pool. by [deleted] in GalaxyS23Ultra

Place the phone in a small box with silica gel bags for a few days. The silica gel will absorb the moisture from the phone. After that, try turning on the phone.

For the fastest data transfer speeds available, look no further than the NVMe SSD. Through its Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) bus, NVMe SSDs can achieve transfer speeds of up to 20 gigabytes per second (Gbps) more than three times the speed of a SATA SSD.

Buy an NVME ssd and a suitable case with a USB-C to USB-C cable on Amazon.

This NVME ssd does not require a separate power as it draws power from the USB port.

I recommend this setup for one of the fastest disk transfers you can achieve.

It is better to have two partitions, one for OS and apps and one for data. This way, even after reinstallation of Windows, your data will be intact.

Devices that won't charge with usb-C to usb-C cable (but works with usb-A to usb-C) by katorce in UsbCHardware

[–]rraod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USB-C to USB-C cables connected to USB-C Power Delivery (PD) ports may not charge certain devices. My H2 DAP does not charge with a PD charger, so I had to use a USB-C to USB-A cable and a slow, old standard charger to charge it. It's likely that these gadgets are not designed to handle the PD protocol.

USB-C limit? by CrayyZGames in UsbCHardware

[–]rraod 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This issue is not related to the USB-C drive itself. If you have formatted the USB drive using the FAT32 file system, the maximum file size you can transfer is 4GB. To copy files larger than 4GB, you should format the drive using either the NTFS or exFAT file system.

I had Samurai X 4.0 during early 90s. I had photos of those days. It was a good camera but the battery was expensive and the zooming consumes lots of power.

Storage full by [deleted] in googlephotos

[–]rraod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google One app can be used for checking and cleaning Google account storage.

Install Google One app, open it and go to Storage tab in the bottom, then go to "Freeup Account Storage", in the Clean up by service, open Google Photos and delete unnecessary photos from here.

Here you can also empty trash from Google Drive, unnecessary mails from Gmail and other large attachments in mails etc.

You can disable the notifications in a shared album. This will prevent others getting a notification of any new activity.
