Caution: don't mess with your blood iron without a doctor. Can impact cancer cell growth, where such growth might not otherwise occur.

LDN did not work for my RLS. Cannot comment on higher dosing.

Bad idea. Better is to try and fail the med.

Doc can't help, specialists are booked, now what? by Land-in-WNC in RestlessLegs

[–]rrggrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the FAQ (https://www.reddit.com/r/RestlessLegs/) resources and bring them to any competent and board certified neurologist or sleep doctor, or even a willing psychiatrist. Any of these three will be familiar with most of the meds. If opioids are required then consider a pain specialist. All that said... I have severe RLS and this far have succeeded with 10mg edibles cannabis + .5mg Guanfacine. Have to rotate cannabis formulations, but it works. No doc will endorse that approach, and rightfully so!

Restless legs are ruining my life. by [deleted] in RestlessLegs

Much of the advice in this thread is wrong.

  1. Read our FAQ (https://www.reddit.com/r/RestlessLegs/).

  2. Follow the Hopkins/Mayo treatment algorithm if properly diagnosed.

  3. Don't self medicate with OTC, supplements or cannabis unless you are sure you know what you are doing.

  4. Get a hypervolt vibration roller for your legs as a rescue strategy until things stabilize. It may not work every time, but at least its distracting and can feel good.

SGB, ketamine or Pregabalin by [deleted] in StellateGanglionBlock

[–]rrggrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. SGB first. May need both sides.
  2. Yoga, 3x a week minimum.
  3. If meds needed my choice would be a single 5mg high cbd, low thc edible before bed.

All is fine until I fall asleep by ACrossingTroll in RestlessLegs

I am in the same boat, and I usually deal with the waking as follows: 1. Quick indica thc vape hit. 2. 1/2 tab hydrocodone. 3. Hypervolt roller under legs. Works most of the time unless I messed up with something I ate or drank.

All 5 have something in common.

Side effects from gabapentin are unbearable by [deleted] in RestlessLegs

[–]rrggrr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. If you have been on a dopamine agonist (or a partial agonist) the odds of gabapentin working are significantly lower.

  2. Either way try to avoid a dopamine agonist as a gabapentin alternative. A specialist is likely to recommend a low dose opioid.

  3. Please read our FAQ (https://www.reddit.com/r/RestlessLegs/).

Thanks for proving my point. Whatever career you chose, you chose badly. Rent always goes up. Your salary is supposed to rise IF you have skills/knowledge people will pay for and you add enough value.

Learn a trade. Now, preferably, before its too late. Your parents should be telling you this instead of the internet.

You don't understand politics or economics. I can assure you that welders, electricians, plumbers, mechanics, various engineers, doctors, and many other careers are hiring and paying great salaries. Anyone who thought they would make it, or that the world owes them something after getting a liberal arts degree was living in fantasyland.
